Many thanks to Charlie Davidson for his professionalism in dealing with the sale of my property. I engaged Charlie following a personal recommendation from a property investor friend. Throughout a complicated conveyancing process, Charlie remained focussed on achieving a successful completion. He was creative and resourceful in finding solutions to some difficult legal points and worked with multiple parties to achieve the best possible outcome. I also found Charlie accessible and responsive during a period when he was extremely busy. I would have no hesitation in recommending Charlie and employing him myself again in the future.

Would give 0 stars if I could
Had a very poor experience using Charlie Davidson for the purchase of a property. His negligence in handling the matter directly caused the deal to collapse as the seller withdrew due to the excessive time taken, resulting in the loss of the property and ensuing financial damage, as well as a loss of months of my time and stress to myself.
The entire process took seven months before it collapsed, which was totally unreasonable. Throughout the whole process, the communication from Charlie was extremely poor, and at a critical point in the purchase he totally ignored all communication attempts for a month, causing additional stress.
Charlie also seemed to struggle with managing tasks in his inbox and dealing with the other party. Having reviewed the communication between both solicitors, Charlie made several errors in requests for information, did not chase issues adequately and did not pass all relevant documentation on to myself.
It would appear that Charlie was severely out of his depth with this transaction and was not being managed properly. From dealing with his manager after complaining, there appears to be a culture of mediocrity across the whole conveyancing team. Once I took matters into my own hands, I was able to get information from the seller within one week that Charlie and his manager had claimed they were unable to get despite them trying for over three months. Indeed, the seller also advised me to make a complaint to Bishop & Sewell due to the delays their poor handling of the matter were causing.
Bishop & Sewell charge higher fees than many other firms, however they do not provide any value for this. Their work was some of the poorest quality professional services I have ever received. I would strongly advise that if you want your property deal to complete and be dealt with in a professional manner, you look to another more competent firm.

Charlie Davidson Saves the Day
SRA intervention of previous firm instructed and Land Registry raised requisition on registration documents submitted. Charlie was a tremendous help in sorting this out and getting my property registered after months of uncertainty when other law firm just sat on the matter. Fantastic lawyer and great to work with. A real star and credit to the legal profession.

Conveyancing
I engaged Charles Davidson at the beginning of October 2024 to handle the sale of a prime London apartment, contracts to be exchanged before the Budget on October 30. They were exchanged at 11.0 pm on October 29.
It was a considerable feat to achieve the transaction within three working weeks in spite of an unusual and complex sale structure and a number of unexpected issues raised by the buyer.
Charles responded quickly to suggestions, showed quick and incisive drafting, dealt pro-actively with the other side and was determined to complete the transaction within the deadline.

Great experience with Charlie Davidson

Excellent experience with Charlie @ Bishop & Sewell
Charlie took on conveyancing on my first property when my previous solicitors fell through and couldn't have done a better job. He was great at communicating with me keeping me in the loop at all times, which was not my experience with the previous firm. His rigorous explanation of the process when I transferred the deposit money stopped me from being scammed out of a significant amount of money when hackers posing as the estate agents accessed my emails and asked for additional funds to secure an exchange. He was a joy to work with, always good humoured and available to ask questions which as a first time buyer I found very reassuring. I couldn't recommend working with him more.
