ReviewSolicitors Suitability Check
How the Suitability Check works
The ReviewSolicitors Suitability Check is designed to help you understand whether a law firm may be suitable
for your legal matter and to support you in deciding what to do next.
It brings together information from publicly available sources, regulatory data, and verified client reviews
and ratings to make it easier to compare law firms and connect with a solicitor who may be suited to your needs.
ReviewSolicitors works with thousands of law firms across the UK, many of whom actively collect client reviews
through our platform. We aim to make it as simple and seamless as possible for you to find, compare, and connect
with a law firm that may be able to help with your matter.
However, the information shown here is based on data that is updated periodically. Solicitors can move between
law firms, law firms may change the areas of law they offer, and capacity to take on new client matters can vary
over time.
Checks on whether a law firm is accepting new clients are carried out on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending
on the information available to us. While this helps keep information up to date, we cannot guarantee that all
details will always be accurate at the time you view them.
In some cases, a law firm may appear as “Not accepting new clients through ReviewSolicitors” because they are not
actively engaged with us or have not confirmed their availability. They may still be accepting new clients
directly, and if you are unsure, it is always best to contact the law firm directly to confirm their expertise,
availability, and whether they have the capacity to handle your matter.
This rating is based on verified client feedback and compares how this firm’s value for money is perceived against the national average. In legal services, value for money is not about being the cheapest option, but about whether clients feel the service, expertise, and outcome justified the cost. This comparison helps place client experiences in context when choosing a law firm.

About this score
This rating is based on client feedback and compares how satisfied people were with the result of their legal matter against the national average for similar legal services. While every case is different and outcomes can depend on the law, the facts, and decisions made by courts or tribunals, this comparison is designed to be like for like.
When a firm has a large number of reviews, individual case differences tend to balance out over time. This makes the national average a useful benchmark for understanding how often clients feel the result achieved was fair and appropriate for their situation. Even small differences from the average can therefore reflect a meaningful difference in the overall standard of legal service provided.

This score shows how likely clients are to recommend this law firm to friends or family, based on verified reviews and compared with the national average. In legal matters, recommendations are usually based on trust, clarity of advice, and how supported clients felt throughout their case. This comparison helps show how consistently a firm meets those expectations.

Incredible Service in a difficult time
I cannot recommend this firm highly enough. I truly cannot thank them enough for the support, guidance, and reassurance they gave me during one of the most difficult periods of my life. From the very beginning, I was treated with professionalism, kindness, and respect. They took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me informed throughout the process, and were always available to answer any questions I had.
Their knowledge, dedication, and attention to detail gave me confidence when I needed it most. I always felt that they genuinely cared about achieving the best possible outcome and worked tirelessly on my behalf.
Thanks to their expertise and support, everything was resolved positively, and I will always be incredibly grateful for everything they did for me. If you're looking for a solicitor who is professional, approachable, compassionate, and truly committed to their clients, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
They stand up for what is right and are committed to challenging injustice. That commitment is reflected in the care, integrity, and determination they show every client, and I cannot thank them enough for helping me through such a difficult chapter of my life

S A Case
Being arrested on an allegation of S A was the most shocking and traumatic experience of my life. In a single moment, everything I had worked for and believed in felt like it had been taken away.
At the police station, I was provided with a duty solicitor and released on pre-charge bail. Over the following months, I attended three bail appointments, yet each time no one was there to see me. Instead, I was simply handed another letter with a new bail date. Whenever I contacted my solicitor for an update, I was repeatedly told not to worry and that someone would call me. No one ever did.
The uncertainty was unbearable. The stress and anxiety became overwhelming, especially as I knew that my witness, whose details I had provided from the very beginning, had still not been properly contacted. After countless phone calls, emails and complaints to the police, I finally received a call from the investigating officer.
It is impossible to describe how that phone call made me feel. I was told that I had been charged and that my solicitor had already been informed by letter. My heart sank. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I felt completely abandoned, not only by the system but also by the solicitor who was supposed to be representing me.
That same day, after speaking with my family and close friends, I decided I needed a fresh start. I began searching online for a new solicitor. Like anyone else, I read countless reviews, but something kept drawing me to Johnson Astills Solicitors.
Making that phone call was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
From my very first conversation with the team, and especially from my first meeting with Helen, everything changed. For the first time since my arrest, I felt someone genuinely listened to me, believed in me and was prepared to fight for me. Helen's professionalism, honesty and reassurance immediately lifted an enormous weight from my shoulders.
From that moment until the conclusion of my case, I never once felt unsupported. Every question I had was answered, every concern was taken seriously, and I always knew that Helen was doing absolutely everything possible to achieve the best outcome.
One moment that will stay with me forever was when Helen told me she had been working on my case until midnight the night before my hearing. While most people would have been resting, she was still preparing my defence. That level of commitment speaks volumes about the dedication she has to her clients.
Walking into court as a defendant is something I hope no innocent person ever has to experience. It is frightening, confusing and emotionally exhausting. I remember hearing the judge discussing dismissing the case, but I was so overwhelmed that I wasn't even sure what I had heard.
Then I spoke to Helen.
She smiled and said, "It's over. You're going home." Those are words I will never forget for the rest of my life.
Living with a S A allegation hanging over me was devastating. It affected every aspect of my life and caused me more emotional pain than I can put into words. But thanks to Helen and everyone at Johnson Astills Solicitors, I was able to get through the darkest period of my life.
Their professionalism, compassion, dedication and unwavering belief in me made all the difference. They didn't just represent me—they stood beside me when I needed someone the most.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Helen and the entire team at Johnson Astills Solicitors for everything they did for me. Thank you for fighting for me, for believing in me, and for helping me get my life back.
I would also like to wish Olivia and all of the trainee solicitors every success in their careers. If they learn from professionals like Helen and the rest of the team, they will have outstanding futures ahead of them.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I am delighted that I was able to persuade the Judge that the case should be thrown out before the trial even started. It was definitely the right result and worth burning the midnight oil for!
I hope you will be able to put this terrible experience behind you and move on now.

Exceptional
I cannot recommend this Law firm highly enough. From the very first consultation, the level of professionalism, clarity, and genuine care I experienced was exceptional. Legal matters can often feel overwhelming, but my solicitor took the time to explain every step in a way that was both thorough and reassuring, ensuring I always felt informed and in control.
What truly sets this firm apart is their attention to detail and unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome. Every piece of advice was thoughtful, strategic, and tailored specifically to my situation. Communication was consistently prompt and transparent, which made a significant difference during what could have been a very stressful process.
Beyond their technical expertise, it was their approachability and integrity that stood out most. I never felt like just another case file—they demonstrated a genuine interest in my circumstances and handled everything with both professionalism and empathy.
Thanks to their dedication and skill, the outcome exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a solicitor who combines deep legal knowledge with outstanding client care, this firm is an excellent choice.
