Associate

I recently qualified as a solicitor in the property litigation team, having trained at Higgs for the previous 2 years. The team deals with a wide range of work and so I have gained experience in dealing with Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 work, residential tenancy issues, dilapidations, break notices, adverse possession, rights of way, neighbour disputes, boundary claims and more. I am the Vice Chair of the Wolverhampton and Black Country Junior Lawyers Division and have worked on the committee for 2 years organising networking events and initiatives for other young legal professionals in the area. I am also a member of the firm’s Green Committee, as a passionate believer in the importance of taking action against climate change where possible.

We were in urgent need of professional help - Really helped us out

5

Whilst working with Higgs LLP on the sale of our property (a different department to legal/ligation). The urgent sale by auction failed to reach even the low reserve in a pre-Chritmas sale. This left us extremely vulnerable as to receivers were being appointed by the lender. Despite the season of goodwill and holiday for New Year making matters worse. The lender was being less than unhelpful and understanding. The apartment in Birmingham had been unsaleable for more than 2 years due to a potential cladding issue and had had no fire certificate for some time. (The issue disappeared on review and appeal )!
Although the property had a new buyer. However, the exchanged contracts had not taken place. which was appeared to be the only criteria to pause the action they would not delay or retract!

Intervention and very rapid appraisal of the situation by Eleanor Martin (Associate Dispute Resolution).

Who was incredibility helpful and professionals and a very good communicator - reassured and supported us during this stressful situation. Where we needed solid legal advice and professional.

All credit give here. I can confidently and hight recommend Higgs LLP who help save us at the 11th hour from a large financial loss loss for our company.
