Overview Karolyn Scott is a Senior Corporate Executive in BHP Law’s Corporate & Commercial team, advising clients across the North East. With over 20 years’ experience at the firm, she has developed a strong reputation for supporting businesses on a wide range of corporate transactions and ongoing advisory matters. Karolyn works with local, national and international organisations across a variety of sectors, providing practical, commercially focused advice on corporate structures, transactions and compliance. She is particularly valued for her attention to detail, technical knowledge, and ability to support clients through complex corporate processes in a clear and efficient manner. Experience & background Karolyn has over two decades of experience within BHP Law’s Corporate team, advising businesses across the North East and beyond on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. Her work includes supporting mergers and acquisitions, advising on group restructures, and assisting with tax-efficient reorganisations for established businesses. She regularly advises clients on corporate governance and compliance, ensuring businesses meet their obligations under the Companies Act and wider regulatory framework. As a member of the Chartered Governance Institute, Karolyn has particular expertise in company secretarial matters and keeps up to date with developments introduced by the Registrar of Companies. Karolyn also works closely with start-ups and growing businesses, supporting them with company formation, structuring and ongoing compliance as they develop. Her experience includes advising on a range of transactions and projects, including: Advising on the acquisition of shares in a motor industry business Supporting a timber merchant with a group restructure Incorporating companies for both new and existing clients Assisting with capital investment arrangements for an international group Reconstructing corporate records for long-established businesses Updating corporate documentation for international organisations She has been involved in transactions with values of up to £13 million, providing consistent support throughout each stage of the process.
