Zero star! If I could rate them as minus 100% I would.

Ashkan Nejad foremost lost important paperwork and a whole file leading to me losing a competitive deal and later my property not being registered at land registry. He colluded with his colleagues to harass me on a telephone call for an issue they never brought up until then against me for a third party and forced me to agree terms which were detrimental to my interest at the eleventh hour. He never responds to emails or telephone calls, he always uses new, experienced staff or trainees who almost always leave the company within a short time. They represented another person by their so-called sister company against their client (me) resulting in conflict of interest and breach of duty of care.

Highly unprofessional

If I could give zero star, I would. Avoid this legal firm like a plaque. So much disregard for customer feedback and complaint management. I was allocated a solicitor, Ashkan, by my lender and then this was passed down to Eaman and I must confess this is the worst legal experience ever. He replies sometimes two weeks after and almost impossible to reach him. The firm must really look into their supervision of staff and create stricter systems. They have an app which is almost redundant as it was never updated with the status like other firms i've used. Till date Eaman has not resolved my queries and when I escalated to his boss, Ashkan who seems to be getting paid for doing absolutely nothing has never reached out or bothered to respond to me. What a shame as I do not know how they can even call themselves professionals. Highly disappointed and I'll be reporting back to the lender.

AVOID!

I used ackroyd legal for Mt first home purchase and it was awful. They were fine at the beginning but when it came to the final week of exchange and completion, my solicitor Ryan when on annual leave without any notice. No one could help so I was chasing constantly. The receptionist Layla, hung up on me at one point before saying ‘no one can help me’ in Ryan’s absence. Even after being in touch with the senior solicitor Ashkan, things were not delivered. There didn’t seem to be communication between Ashkan and Ryan, as upon Ryan’s return he was clueless. He mentioned I had no LISA, when infact all documentation’s were sent over. DO NOT USE. I recommend paying the extra and getting getter service.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE, SHOCKING INEPTITUDE

We recently used Ackroyd Legal for both our sale and purchase, and it was the most harrowing experience - and the issues are ongoing despite having completed the sale/purchase the first week of June. We were assigned Sonya Cardwell and from the outset she was unresponsive and unprofessional. These issues only escalated as months passed and NO PROGRESS was being made. We called, we emailed, she rarely replied and when she did, she was incredibly rude - both via email and on the phone. She did not communicate with our buyer's solicitor and in fact, she refused to provide details pertaining to the search results for MONTHS. She simply refused to do it. After four months without progress, our buyer threatened to pull out of the purchase, stating that her solicitor was now refusing to work with Sonya due to her incompetency’s and her poor attitude. We then had no choice but to escalate the matter further, FINALLY getting in touch with one of the managing partners, Ashkan Nejad. We pleaded with him to take over our purchase and to ensure Sonya was swiftly removed from our account. Then, in a bizarre turn of events, Sonya emailed to say she was removing herself from our account and we would be assigned another conveyancer. We aren't sure what happened next - we suspect some internal disagreement or concern over culpability – but Sonya then continued to work on our sale and purchase on behalf of Ashkan in secret. Which meant she was still perpetuating misinformation and failing to serve us accordingly. Despite this, we were assured again and again by Ashkan that Sonya was not working on our case, and that he himself would handle everything. Again, untrue. He did not. He would go days without replying to us or accepting our calls, we were promised callbacks that never came, Ashkan was almost ALWAYS in a ‘meeting’ – the whole thing was hard to fathom. And this wasn’t just coming from us, it was coming from the estate agents, the buyer’s solicitor, our previous management company and their solicitors – everyone struggled to make any contact with Ackroyd Legal and everyone experienced undue delays. Because of so many missed deadlines, and our exchange/completion being pushed back further and further, we wasted thousands of pounds on storage units, having utilities and bills moved to the new address unnecessarily, and then we were forced to provide financial aid to our buyer (because if they backed out, we would have lost our purchase) who was essentially homeless given Sonya’s ineptitude. Once we finally arrived at completion day, miraculously, Ashkan was of course away on holiday and again Sonya was managing our account. She was utterly useless, providing both our buyer’s solicitor and us with incorrect figures on the completion statement – she sent about six emails back and forth assuring us she was right, before finally amending the document to reflect the accurate figures. As a result, our buyer owed more money than they had readily available, and we had to then negotiate with our management company to get them to agree not to demand upfront service charges. After the most stressful day, we finally completed at 5 PM. And now, Sonya is still refusing to provide us with required documents, she never sent in the transfer notice to our management company, and we have no details about the land registry. The customer service was and still is appalling. We’ve told everyone we know and work with to avoid Ackroyd Legal. We sincerely hope this review saves someone the grief we've experienced.
