James graduated from the University of Southampton in 2012 with a first class degree in law. He trained and practised for 8 years at a boutique firm in prime west London, and during this time gained invaluable experience handling a wide variety of property transactions both in the London region and further afield, including in rural areas. After getting married in 2023 James settled in the north east with his wife and their cat, Penny. He specialises in both residential and commercial transactions, including freehold and leasehold conveyancing, lease extensions and renewals, collective enfranchisement, property finance, re-finance and development. He is based in our Hexham office and his expertise includes agricultural matters. James prides himself on his attention to detail and problem solving abilities, as well as his approachability and commitment to meeting his clients’ needs and timescales. Outside of work James has strong interests in both music and sport. He has played the guitar in various bands in the past, and also qualified and worked as a ski instructor for several years.

Exceptional Service

Absolutely brilliant

I bought my property via Woodfords and James O’Connor was absolutely brilliant, dealing with the very challenging solicitor of the vendor. He picked up on all the small issues and prevented them from becoming big issues and dealt gracefully with the absolute witch that the vendor had instructed.
