Kath began her career in the legal profession in the year 1970 as a Junior at Taylors Bridge Baron & Sykes of Wigan. Over the years Kath has progressed through various stages which included being a Legal Secretary and later a Fee earner. She has worked mainly in the Wigan area during her career and takes pride in knowing and living in the area. Kath, juggled with her family life, work and part time study for many years. Eventually, her hard work and determination paid off when she qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in June 2007, specialising mostly in Conveyancing Law. In 2023, Kath continued with her studies and obtained a certification of CILEx Practitioner in conveyancing practice which enables her to undertake conveyancing work without supervision in a regulated firm. Kath works within our busy conveyancing team dealing with post completion work, alongside adverse possession and possessory issues title as well as all the obscure conveyancing matters. Kath also assists the department where necessary. Kath has worked on approximately 200 amount of cases per year since qualifying. Kath is supervised by Caroline Rooks. Kath takes exceptional pride in going the extra mile in both her working environment and with the public generally and takes great pride in being part of a team. Outside the office Kath enjoys her family life, children and grandchildren. She loves the outdoors and over the years as progressed from camping to caravanning and returns to her birth place in Scotland on many occasions. Kath also enjoys watching most sports including Rugby and supports Wigan Warriors. For over a decade and up until the pandemic Kath enjoyed being a Girl Guide Leader and was a volunteer at St Elizabeth’s Aspull Rainbow. She is a great believer in local charities and has contributed and taken part in various fundraising events over the years.

    Thank you to Kath Shallicker for her excellent work registering deeds with the Land Registry!
