Selling and buying a house on behalf of an elderly family member was a new experience for us, but having Marie as our solicitor made the process as smooth as possible. Considering some of the challenges that cropped up during conveyancing (stressful for us and for her) she dealt with everything in a professional, firm and friendly manner. We cannot praise her highly enough and although she is officially a 'trainee' we are confident we could not have had a better solicitor to help us through the past six months or so. Whenever we all visited in person she was so friendly, and dealt with our relative very kindly and patiently. On behalf of us all, we thank Marie and her supervisor Elizabeth at Cartmells during our experience of dealing with our properties.

Elizabeth Crouch was the solicitor responsible for our interests in the sale of our small London leasehold flat. With a sitting tenant who was reluctant to leave, the sale was protracted and difficult. There were potential problems with the initial sale being arranged back-to-back with a sale by our purchaser, by auction, through a London agent. These problems were deftly handled by Elizabeth to our great relief. Her advice and initiative were greatly appreciated.

We have always used a different Legal firm which I alway thought were a bit insipid, not inspiring confidence. This was the first time we had used Cartmell’s and we were both pleased with the efficient professionalism of Cartmell’s. Although the house purchase did not happen; on reflection, we are very grateful for the work Elizabeth at Cartmell’s carried out for us. If it were not for her professionalism, we could have walked into an absolute nightmare. We were advised to pull out of the purchase by them. Elizabeth found a number of anomalies in the deeds that would have made us unable to sell the property in the future along with access issues. The vendor had consistently lied to us about regarding ownership and the way the property had been split up. Moral of the story: trust your solicitor and don’t trust the vendor or estate agent! Also, if it wasn’t written down; it did not happen! Would definitely use their services again!
