I contacted Melanie Bridgen from Nelsons Solicitors in Derby for advice in child arrangement. Her knowledge was more than I could ask for. She helped me through every concern I had and with her colleague Melanie Theakstone put together my wishes, contacted my ex, made sure that everything I legally wanted it was written down as clear for the court application as possible. They followed my case through CAFCASS and the final court order. Mrs. Bridgen had straight questions, and answers to everything. They took the process of my shoulder, and in 2 months I have received the final order from court (with Christmas included). I cannot be more thankful for their job and knowledge.

Child law matters
I contacted Nelson’s on the recommendation of another client and was allocated Melanie Brigden. After the initial consultation I was more than confident that Melanie and of course Melanie 2 could handle this somewhat difficult case! Initially I went with a child arrangement order which both parents objected to but Melanie soon dealt with their objections and the order was given … I went for an SGO order as well and although it’s wasn’t granted didn’t feel it was anything to do with the lack of attention to detail by Melanie her hands were tied by social worker recommendation. This still didn’t stop Melanie pushing in court for the best outcome possible on the day .. I am totally happy my granddaughter gets to grow up in a safe , loving and stable future. I would recommend the two Melanie’s and employ them again in a minute .

Professional
Professional - My solicitor knows her subject matter well. Accommodating - I had some issues with settling my invoice, but it was handled very diplomatically at a time when i was already under pressure from the legal proceedings i was going through. Accessible - I was able to reach my solicitor whenever i needed to and on the couple of occasions that i couldn't they got back to me in a timely manner. Thank You.

Melanie Bridgen
Melanie is professional, empathetic, reassuring and puts your mind at ease every step of the way. She really is the family lawyer you want in your corner and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who requires family law advice. She took my case on short notice, it was very complex and I got the best result possible.

Excellent
Very clear and concise on required actions and next steps - The process was explained and fully understood from start to finish. The turnaround time on actions and documents required was excellent. Advise provided was measured, considered and achieved the best outcome possible. I felt confident that any scenario that arose could be dealt with without causing me any additional stress over and above that naturally induced by processing a Divorce and House Sale in parallel.

I have had Nelsons supporting me for two years, and I can't thank Melanie Bridgen, Kate Warner and Katy Swinbourne enough for helping me get custody of my children, it has been a long heartbreaking tough court case. Melanie Bridgen is a top-class woman and I highly respect her for what she has done for me and my children...Melanie has reassured me though out the whole proceedings, so...if you ever need a solicitor for children I wouldn�t go anywhere else.
