Helpful advice - Eventually!

Whilst we are satisfied with the information and assistance we eventually received in resolving issues relating to our late father's Will Trust it was very frustrating that it took five months for Mr Sheppard to advise on the matter. Progress only ever seemed to happen after repeated phone calls and emails to chase things up and it was two months before we even received the Terms of Engagement documentation and ID check links. Meanwhile money due to the Trustees was stuck in a client account with another solicitor and losing value. The careless and distressing errors in the file closure letter, getting our father's surname wrong and addressing one of the Trustees by our deceased father's initials, as well as addressing the letter to the male trustee when all previous correspondence and contact had been with the (female) lead trustee is indicative of the casual attitude with which we feel the matter was treated. On this basis, I regret that we will not be using Gibsons again and feel unable to recommend the firm.

Making a will

I had some rather complicated requests and Chris was great - gave sound advice but also listened carefully to what I wanted.

Poor Experience

I used Gibson & Co for a probate transaction whilst executing the estate of a loved one and sadly had an overall poor experience. Throughout the transaction I often had to make multiple attempts at contact by email and telephone to receive any response to queries or information requests. I felt I had to consistently chase and double check information due to regular errors being made with figures, in addition paperwork going missing within the firm resulting in overdue payment notices being received adding undue stress to an already unsettling time. On writing in to the firm to voice my grievances I received a lengthy return letter absolving the firm of any wrong doings with little acknowledgement of the overall poor service and customer experience. The letter was responded to over a week outside the complaints policy window and ironically if the service I had received throughout the process had of been as comprehensive as this letter maybe I would not have felt the need to complain.
