They answered the phone promptly. Calls were returned when promised. They did a task in a highly professional manner within a restricted timeframe. The cost was reasonable & competitive. Staff were friendly & easy to deal with. They totally justified my decision to go with a local practice rather than a "Major". What more could you ask ?

We have used Scott Richards Solicitors twice now, firstly to advise us and to draw up our mirror wills, and secondly to arrange for the transfer of my mother's will when she moved to Dawlish. My mother has recently passed away, and I received her will and was advised on how to proceed. Sue McGregor, was assigned to assist us with probate , following the death of my brother. Whilst Sue remained professional at all times, she was always friendly and approachable. Sue was sensitive to my situation, and also to my sister in the law who was grieving the loss of her husband. Sue reponded promply to queries, we needed answered. The process of applying for probate was clearly set out for us, she helped us to negotiated legal terminlogy with clear explanation and without judgement. Despite the length of time it took to complete, any delays that took place were not because of her disinterest, she would explain she was just waiting for responses from another. We have used Scott Richards for 3 residential property conveyances during the last 7 years and were very happy with the highly professional service they provided on all of them. As is often the case with house moves, problems can arise that are beyond their control. This happened late in the day on two of them but in both cases, we were kept clearly informed and they were tenacious in chasing other parties for information and moving them along as fast as possible towards completion. They were also diligent in dealing with a number of legal issues that arose, challenging unreasonable items raised by other parties’ solicitors and efficiently putting in remedies as required. We were particularly grateful to Liz Rodgers in this respect on the most recent conveyance, but also to the rest of the conveyancing team who also played their part. The most important thing for me, and I’m sure anyone else, is good communication and they get this right. We have also used them for will writing and providing advice on inheritance and trusts which can get quite complex, and were very happy with the comprehensive information provided by Christine Shute which recently enabled us to set up our wills appropriately. We felt that their fees on all of this have been very reasonable, staying in line with estimates, despite some apparent additional work and would highly recommend them.

Excellent service from Scott Richards on a time critical matter. Communication from Jamie, Claire and the team was second to none.
