Caroline Cake assisted with my Grandfathers will in his words ‘Caroline was extremely helpful, she did a great job, very friendly and polite and a pleasure to deal with’ - Mr J Langston Caroline was very helpful with my Grandfather who is hard of hearing. They chatted about football, and she built up a lovely rapport with him, although he found a lot of the information jargon, Caroline was able to explain everything to him in a way that he would understand. Everyone else at Matthew & Matthew also seemed very polite and helpful! Thank you so much 😁

Shocking experience with Paul Moores. My mother in law wanted to amend her will, a simple change which a codicil would have covered. She was not told at the time that it would be a completely new will with the associated costs. My mother in law is 88 years old. I was not present at the first meeting but went with her to her second appointment where he was expecting her to sign a new will. She asked him why he never told her that she had to have a new will and he dismissed her questions and his standard reply was “well whatever”. He was extremely patronising and rude and didn’t want to enter into any further dialogue just stated that he was ending the meeting and showed us the door. His manner was frankly appalling.
Dear Suzanne Thank you for your review, which we are of course extremely concerned to read and is very unusual. In investigating this we can see that your mother in law came into the office on three separate occasions; the third of which is the one which you reference above. The notes show that at no time was a codicil discussed and in any event there would be no price differential to a new Will. As a firm we will not tolerate any abusive behaviour towards our staff, which is why you were asked to leave the office.
Many thanks to Lalitha and Sally for a job well done! Our house sale was extremely complicated and stressful but Lalitha and Sally were very supportive and professional throughout the process. We would highly recommend Mathew and Mathew and will be using them again.

I cannot recommend Matthew and Matthew highly enough. They have recently dealt with two house sales and purchase for us, and the service throughout has been exceptional. Buying and selling property can be stressful, with so many things to coordinate, but they made the whole process feel much easier. They were professional, knowledgeable and extremely efficient, while also being friendly, approachable and always willing to help. Communication was excellent throughout. We were kept informed at every stage, questions were answered promptly. What really stood out was how approachable and responsive they were, especially Emma King and Sara Jones. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they took the time to explain things clearly and make sure we understood everything. Even when things became complicated or there were delays outside of their control, they remained on top of everything and kept us updated. Having used them for sales and purchases, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. It is reassuring to have a solicitor you can trust when dealing with such important transactions. Thank you to the whole team for all your hard work and for making what could have been a very stressful process so much easier. We would definitely use you again.

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We used M&M as they're local to where we live but it is the worst decision we could have made. We had multiple problems and serious breach of our personal and financial information to the estate agent working for the other party who used this against us in negotiations. They gave out or mortgage information which breached GDPR but we dealt David who works as a director for the business and he couldn't care less. He was quite frankly rude and insulting. We also had to chase Mathew & Mathew to updates multiple times and it took us 6 months for a simple house purchase! Also we had transferred a large amount of money to Mathew & Mathew and before exchanging the called wanting the amount again, they didn't even check if the funds were with them! A lot of local estate agents get commission for referring them to you, so they believe they can charge you a premium amount for terrible service that breaches GDPR. Please avoid and don't make the same mistake as us, its been an stressful and awful experience.

As you are aware, we have had correspondence relating to this and it has been reviewed internally as required. We are concerned that some details in your review do not reflect the truth. We do not pay any commission for work and indeed have acted for you on multiple occasions where you have instructed us as a repeat client. We understand that buying a property can be stressful, and we always aim to provide clear communication and support throughout. You are aware that you were in a chain which involved a newbuild and which caused the delay for exchange and completion. Whilst we were ready to proceed to exchange for you, we could not do so until the rest of the chain could. Our team work hard for every client and sometimes this can be clouded by the rest of the chain. It is unfortunate that our professional relationship has broken down after so many years and we wish you well for the future.
