Excellent Conveyancing Services

Having received some good advice during an initial call, I took up the conveyancing service. Khurram Khan was pragmatic, articulate and realistic. I was very happy with the way he actioned enquiries, getting on in the background and steadily progressing my case to a successful conclusion. Great customer service. Also, the second time we have used this team and would use again.

Selling of my flat

Jieyi was absolutely fantastic, everything went smoothly and any queries I had were dealt with very quickly. It can be complicated with a leasehold but everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently, we were ready to exchange and complete long before the buyers solicitor! This is the second time in three years I have used this company, and I would not hesitate to use them again!

Awful experience thus far

Unfortunately my experience with GD Property Solicitors has been awful so far. Communication has been poor, no responses or very delayed responses (7 days or over), both myself and seller are ready to complete and the legal work just isn’t being done. I’ve not been given a timeframe, can’t get through to anyone and this purchase has been ongoing since January. I’ve had four different case handlers, I’ve been moved from someone who went on maternity to someone who left to someone who couldn’t deal with the complexity of the work to now someone who seems too busy to even respond or look at the file. I paid for fast track which has been completely pointless, I don’t mind paying more for a positive experience and good communication but completely overpriced for the level of customer service, if this is fast track I’d be extremely cautious about what standard care looks like. I’ve bought properties over the last 10 years and I’ve never had an experience like this where I’m just being ignored. I would not recommend. I’ve raised my concerns directly with no responses therefore my only option was to write reviews to stop other people experiencing what I’m experiencing at the moment. Would not recommend

Avoid GD Legal at All Costs – Unprofessional, Unaccountable, Dishonest

Avoid GD Legal at All Costs – Unprofessional, Unaccountable, Dishonest, and Financially Damaging I rarely leave negative reviews, but after months of inaction, financial loss, and complete disregard from GD Legal, I feel a duty to share my experience in the hope of preventing others from going through the same ordeal. From the outset, GD Legal presents itself as a leading conveyancing firm with glowing online reviews and a polished public image. Unfortunately, the reality is anything but professional. Summary of Issues: • Three straightforward, chain-free, freehold property purchases – all severely delayed without justification. • Significant financial loss due to delayed completions and subsequent SDLT rate increases. • Zero accountability from case handlers or management, despite repeated complaints. • No registration of properties with HM Land Registry even 6–9 months post-completion. • Ongoing mortgage issues caused by their inaction, for which I was then charged an additional £90 to expedite registration. • Sensitive legal documents mishandled and left on my doorstep insecure. • Consistent miscommunication, misleading statements, and broken promises. • Repeated written and verbal pleas for help completely ignored — including promised callbacks and responses from management that never materialized. My case handler, Shahla, displayed extremely poor communication, only providing updates when chased by phone – sometimes going weeks without any progress. Astonishingly, apparent progress would always occur mere minutes before my calls. Complaints to her supervisor, Lewis, resulted in no meaningful change or accountability. All three properties completed in Sept and Nov 2024 — and by April 2025, I discovered that none had been registered with HM Land Registry. One property's legal documents were mistakenly posted to my home address and later lost after I returned them to GD Legal — despite having proof of delivery. When I asked them to expedite the registrations due to the financial impact their delays were causing, I was charged £90, despite the responsibility being entirely theirs. Requisitions from the Land Registry followed because of basic errors and omissions in their submissions — yet weeks later, these still haven't been properly addressed. Escalating concerns to Lewis, Irfan, and Myisha produced nothing. Not one of them has shown any willingness to engage with the issues, let alone offer an apology, explanation, or resolution. It’s clear that once they’ve been paid, the service stops and accountability disappears!! Throughout the process, I sent multiple emails and made numerous phone calls, clearly explaining the mounting financial and logistical impact the delays were causing. I pleaded for assistance – escalating the matter several times and asking for senior management to step in. I was repeatedly promised follow-ups and responses from managers and team leaders — but not a single one of those promises was kept. These repeated assurances, given with no intention of follow-through, felt deeply dishonest and misleading. They have continually tried to shift blame to external solicitors or agents — but each property had different legal teams and estate agents. The only constant in this chaos was GD Legal. GD Legal has not only failed to deliver what I paid for — their negligence, lack of communication, and total absence of professional responsibility have left me with ongoing legal and financial problems, and months of stress. Their refusal to engage, take accountability, or even acknowledge multiple formal complaints has caused significant emotional distress, in addition to the financial losses. The failure to meet even their most basic legal obligations, such as registering property titles in a timely manner, is not just poor service — it is outright inexcusable. The dishonesty throughout the process, from misleading updates to broken promises and deflected blame, has been incredibly damaging and unacceptable. If you're considering GD Legal, PLEASE RECONSIDER!!. Their conduct has demonstrated a complete disregard for their clients and the legal standards they are bound to uphold. I will now be escalating this matter to the Legal Ombudsman, as I have no faith that this firm will take responsibility or rectify the harm they’ve caused.

Great company with competitive price

I used GD Legal this year to sell a property. My last experience with this company was so brilliant I didn't think it could be as perfect again. But, I was wrong! Sophie Leathley was my conveyancer this time and I was not at all disappointed. From the very start Sophie was fast, efficient, helpful and friendly. Everything you could want. She answered emails promptly and fully, got in contact regularly, helped to chase the buyer's solicitor, and was basically wonderful. A big thank you to Sophie and the team.

Very Disappointing, Borderline Incompetent. I used GD for the sale of my leasehold flat but it seemed they were way out of their depth. Had it not been for my repeated intervention, the sale would have almost certainly fallen through. Though generally quick to respond to correspondence, I became frustrated at a lack of clarity, and at times serious miscalculation of fees. I had to step in on several occasions to correct GDs misinterpretation of the lease agreement, and it became very time consuming checking all correspondence for errors. On several occasions GD simply forwarded incorrect information from the property management company to the buyers solicitors. At the end of it all, they simply ignored my complaint over the level of involvement required from me, and lack of professional value from them. I wouldn't use them again, nor recommend them for anyone buying or selling a leasehold property.

No stars if I could

Absolutely the worst service ever, made our experience of selling our home the most miserable 11 months of my life, I would never recommend & have no idea how they have achieved a 4 star rating. No regard for our circumstances and even less respect for people selling their property. No return calls, no response to urgent emails and numerous mistakes on critical documents slowing the completion down, don't try and refer your concern to the "boss" because he doesn't reply once you accept their quote . I would never advise anyone to risk their sanity using GD law/GD Legal

Over 12 Months of Stress, Lies, and Zero Accountability

I and my husband bought a property through GD Solicitors in June 2024, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. My husband left a review two weeks ago explaining our appalling experience with them, and since then nothing has changed. GD Solicitors publicly replied to his review asking us to “contact the client care team” — which we have done several times. The reality? You get placed on hold for hours and nobody ever answers. Not a single call has been returned. Land Registry Issue For the past year, we have been chasing GD Solicitors for an update on the Land Registry status. After constant follow-ups, we were told they were still waiting for information from the seller’s solicitor. However, when we contacted the seller’s solicitor directly, they confirmed they had sent all the necessary paperwork over a year ago. This means GD Solicitors either lied or lost critical documents. As a result, we are still living in a house that is not legally in our name. The firm has also withheld a portion of our sale proceeds. We provided all the documentation they requested to release the funds, yet the money has still not been returned. Our Verdict This is not “slow service” — it is a complete failure of professional duty. GD Solicitors were entrusted with one of the most important transactions of our lives, and they have left us with an unresolved legal and financial mess that has caused immense stress for over a year. Don’t be fooled by the other positive reviews like us — our case was a disaster. We are now escalating this matter to the Consumer Department and considering legal action. If GD Solicitors genuinely care about their clients, they must stop hiding behind unanswered phone lines and resolve both the Land Registry issue and the release of our funds immediately. To anyone reading this — my strongest advice is simple: stay away from GD Solicitors.

Avoid GD Solicitors – Our Worst Experience with a Law Firm

My wife and I used GD Solicitors in June 2024 for both the sale and purchase of properties, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Buying Side: The solicitor originally assigned to us was completely ineffective, and throughout the process, the firm changed our solicitor at least four times without informing us. Communication was non-existent — none of the solicitors were ever available to speak on the phone. The buying process took over three months to complete, and even now, more than a year later, it’s still not fully done. For the past year, I have been chasing GD Solicitors for an update on the Land Registry status. After continuous follow-ups, I was finally told they’re still waiting for information from the seller's solicitor. When I contacted the seller’s solicitor directly, they confirmed they had sent all the necessary documentation over a year ago — which means GD Solicitors either lied or lost critical paperwork. Either way, I’ve been living in a house that’s still not legally in my name after a full year. I’m now seeking help from the Consumer Department to escalate this. Selling Side: To be fair, our solicitor Shahla was good with communication, but the firm held a portion of our sale proceeds. Despite me providing all the necessary documentation to release it, the money has still not been returned. Overall, I strongly advise others to stay away from GD Solicitors. The experience has been exhausting, stressful, and frankly unacceptable. What should have been a smooth transaction turned into an ongoing legal mess that we're still dealing with a year later.
