I recently completed a sale with Bishopsgate Law and worked with Jodie, Sofina and Pak-ka. They handled a difficult set of buyers solicitors with real composure. They stayed proactive at every step, kept me updated, and made the whole process feel manageable. They were engaged, quick to respond, and genuinely easy to work with. I had the pleasure of dealing with Bishopsgate Law for the sale of my current property, and the purchase of a new one. Despite the many challenges experienced along the way with chains falling through a few times (through no fault of mine or Bishopsgate Law) the team looking after me (Yana Cox and Claire Ryles) took it all in their stride and remained patient, friendly, and helpful throughout. The sheer speed I received each reply to any questions massively impressed me throughout also. I was consistently made to feel like their most valued client, which really helped to take the stress out of the whole legal process. I was also impressed by the fact that even if Yana or Claire were out of the office, those standing in for them, and assisting them (Pak-ka Yeung, Jo Babland, and Janine Prescott) were just as quick at responding and providing helpful assistance. In April this year we sold our house in London. Marianna Fratello from the Hertfordshire office was absolutely fabulous, easy to work with and very efficient from start to finish. The fees were transparent and any issues to do with the property was baught to my attention immediately and dealt with promptly. Awful experience, not sure where they got good reviews from! - Any communication was instigated by us or the sellers estate agent (who they were rude to). - When I didn’t understand the money side of things the email I kept getting was “read this”, no matter how many times I said this didn’t make sense to me it wasn’t explained. - 3 times my partners name was incorrect, due to it being uncommon to have 2 first names we made this extremely clear in the beginning. - Another time the house price was incorrect on paperwork. - We were sent the sellers death certificate, which I think is completely inappropriate for a stranger to know his cause of death. - Stamp duty was paid 1.5months after the move in date. This was only paid as HMRC had sent me a letter stating a fine had been occurred for not paying it. I was also not told that this had finally been paid, I had to chase it. Awful experience, will never use them again

I had a great experience working with Amanda and Zain during my property sale. They were both professional, efficient, and extremely helpful from start to finish. They kept me updated throughout the entire process and were always quick to respond to any questions I had, which made everything feel much less stressful. Their communication was clear and consistent, and I always felt confident that everything was being handled properly. Amanda and Zain made what can often be a complicated process feel smooth and straightforward. I really appreciated their attention to detail and dedication to getting everything completed on time. We strongly urge people to AVOID this company. Our buyer used Bishopsgate and had Carly Robinson working on a house purchase. Carly slowed the entire chain down, costing lots of people thousands of pounds. Everyone else's solicitors in the chain had finished their checks etc within around three months. Bishopsgate appear to have barely started their checks in that time and took almost four months longer. Bishopsgate would only respond to our solicitor's queries around once a week. Carly would send one enquiry / request, our solicitor would respond swiftly with what they requested, often the same day, and then we'd have to wait a whole week for them to even look at it. Routinely she would say she was going to sort something 'shortly' or 'that afternoon' and it would be days longer - even on simple things. When our solicitor or estate agent tried to make polite enquiries on how many more checks were needed or on a rough timeframe, they would get a snotty email back explaining how it is a complicated process that cannot be rushed. For some unknown reason, Carly seemed to take pleasure in everyone else's frustration and delight in refusing to do anything in an appropriate timeframe. In the end, the delay cost us thousands of pounds as we ended up on a tracker mortgage for months, while others in the chain lost out on children's places at schools in the area they were hoping to move to. Bishopsgate showed no care about this at all and carried on with their 'one email a week' policy. It was such a shame as everyone else in the chain (the other solicitors, estate agents and mortgage advisors) were all so helpful and worked so hard for everyone. Appalling company - and Carly Robinson should be ashamed of herself and her negative impact on multiple people's lives.

We had the pleasure of having Pia and Abi as our team and they were outstanding for every step of the way, responsive, providing clear updates, and ensuring that we had what we needed at each step. Our purchase wasn’t straight forward with a chain and issues arising through the survey, and it was expertly navigated by Pia and Abi and resolved in a timely manner for us to complete on the day agreed. There were a few occasions we needed guidance and they were happy to have a quick call to advise. We couldn’t recommend Pia and Abi more, and we’ve been incredibly pleased with the service and support we received.
