I started my claim over 3 years ago and have now signed my authority for a settlement. Yes it’s a long process, however the MOD is a big business, so big respect to the team at baker-Coleman who are battling to get us our compensation. Thank you to phoebie who has been dealing with my claim and kept me informed thank you. To all the negative comments on here I would say be grateful to this team of lawyers, because if you have served in the military and have been into battle then you know what’s it’s like to have to go through the pain and hopefully come out the other end. My point is these guys are going into battle on your behalf, so be patient and you might just come out the other end with a win. Thank you baker Coleman for standing alongside side me. Best regards
Awful communication, just awful. Can not speak to anybody but the 1 claim handler on your case, if they are off sick, or on holiday, you must wait!!! 6 of my ex colleagues who used another solicitor, were kept in close contact, and have had they're claims settled, they started their claims 3 months after I made my claim
We are sorry to hear about your frustration and the delays you've experienced. We completely understand how important clear and timely communication is and we sincerely regret that you have not received the level of service you expected. If you could email me your case ID number at M.Shafiq@bakercoleman.co.uk, I will look into this for you and ensure your file handler provides you with an update as soon as possible. Kind regards, Baker and Coleman Solicitors.
I registered with Baker Coleman to represent me for my hearing claim against the MOD. Sadly, the whole process took almost 3 years from start to finish. I work for the MOD so many of my work colleagues (on my recommendation) used the same practice and have all experienced the same situation. After an offer of compensation was made by the MOD, and accepted it, took almost 2 months for the MOD to pay. Im informed that interest should have been added to the overall sum, if after 14 days the defendant doesnt pay. The compensation was eventually paid into my bank account less the interest. I understand there are delays because it takes a long time to recover the medical documents, however, it would be good practice if the company contact the claimant on a regular basis. As an example a colleague of mine initially submitted his claim 2 years ago. He sent an email requesting an update 12 days ago...........hes still waiting for a response.
Thank you for sharing your experience and providing such detailed feedback. We sincerely apologise for any frustrations caused your claim process. We understand how delays and a lack of consistent communication can lead to dissatisfaction and we deeply regret any inconvenience you and your colleagues have experienced. While some delays, such as those tied to obtaining medical documents or MOD responses are unfortunately beyond our control, we are actively working to improve communication practices, including proving regular updates to claimants to ensure you feel supported and informed throughout the process. Regarding interest on late payments, this is something we would be happy to look into further for you. If you believe an error has been made, please get in touch so we can investigate this matter thoroughly. Your feedback is invaluable as it highlights areas we can enhance to better serve our clients. We truly appreciate your patience and recommendation and are committed to making necessary improvements moving forward. - Baker and Coleman Solicitors.
I began my hearing claim against the MoD through Baker & Coleman in or around April 2022 and have received little to no actual or beneficial movement of my claim from them once they had all the documentation signed by myself pertaining to what financial settlement they would receive from my case in the outcome of a successful claim. I've rang, emailed and even snail mailed this company many times to be either told the file handlers away on leave or she's off sick or as in most cases to message someone else as the member of staffs absent from the office for whatever reason? This to me now after almost 3 years of patiently waiting (or being fobbed off) is becoming a farce and one I 'seriously regret' authorising & commission this company to handle on my behalf. I'm constantly told "it'll be dealt with and finalised in about 3-6 months with a financial settlement outcome" and "it's the MoD that are stalling" but that to me after many approaches for updates is wearing thin & my confidence in them has been completely lost. Either the company I chose are incomp-e-tant (I have to edit my words as algorithms don't allow real expression of feelings) or the whole things simply a data harvesting 5cam...I honestly don't know which it is? I recommend any other veteran who's contemplapting commissioning Baker & Coleman to think long and hard and do your own due diligence on them beforehand as I foolishly didn't. I hope I'm wrong! Hopefully making this comment will spur them on to act accordingly, but I fear it'll end my case due to me publicly shining light on my individual claim, either way I'll know the truth!
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear about your frustration and dissatisfaction with the process. We understand how important it is to feel heard and supported, especially when pursuing a claim as significant as this. Claims against the MOD often involve complex procedures which can cause delays beyond our control. However, we acknowledge that effective communication on our part is vital in keeping you informed and reassured throughout the process. Your concerns about our communication and timelines are being taken seriously and we are committed to reviewing your case promptly. We will ensure that your file handler contacts you directly to address your concerns and provides a clear and an updated timeline for your claim. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. - Baker and Coleman Solicitors.

I discussed various aspects of my claim today with Zain. He was very helpful and gave me complete assurances to feel that every issue was being expertly dealt with.
I was contasted by Affan who was very polite and helpful, as was his colleague. I would recommend this firm to anybody reading this and my friends and family. Very professional company.
The service during my claim was brilliant. I was kept up to date regularly given details of everything that was happening. Mohsin Mahmood was very professional throughout and he kept me fully aware of everything that needed to be done.
