Disappointed Customer
Avoid, read all review
I've been waiting almost 2 years to write this review, as I wanted to make sure the conveyancing case is finally closed and confirmed. Please read it all. I usually write only positive reviews, because I understand that sometimes things can go wrong. But this is not the case here. What can I say about ? AVOID AT ABSOLUTELY ANY COST – ESPECIALLY JONATHAN!! I didn't have a single positive interaction with them. It started with delays in the buying process, which pushed the whole transaction back by a few weeks. The reason for that was the case being moved between different case handlers who clearly did not communicate with each other. I had to explain everything again and again from the beginning. They were not able to send a simple email confirming acceptance of the offer to the estate agency, despite plenty of emails, calls and even a few visits to the office. Because of that, the other side could not issue their documents, which directly caused further delays. Jonathan W. is the most unprofessional and incompetent worker I have ever dealt with. He ignored my issues and concerns, was not able to give me any clear answers or guidance, and failed to handle basic communication properly. He could not write appropriate emails to the other side and also failed to prepare and send me the Land Registry letter. I contacted them again recently, around 1.5 years after I moved in, only to be told that the original letter had been posted to me in October 2025. As confirmation, I received a letter written and signed by Jonathan confirming the end of the process — but the date on the letter was 23.04.2026, not October 2025. This means I never received the original documentation from Land Registry, and Gowlings failed to complete this properly. You're paying them a horrendous amount of money and you're left on your own. It is hard to understand how this company has such good reviews. I am not here to theorise — I am here for facts. And the facts are simple: Gowlings failed at every single stage of my conveyancing process. Before the transaction, during it (causing delays due to basic actions not being completed), and after completion. I would probably never have received my Land Registry documentation if I had not chased them again myself.
