Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Overcharged Fee on Disrepair Settlement

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the payment deduction made from my recent housing disrepair settlement.
As you are aware, I was awarded a settlement of £3,000 from Hexagon Housing in relation to the disrepair claim you managed on my behalf. Throughout our discussions, we went back and forth regarding your fee. After careful consideration, it was mutually agreed and confirmed that you would take 10% of the settlement amount rather than the initially suggested 25%.
However, I was extremely disappointed to find that you deducted 25% from the settlement I received today, directly contradicting the agreement made. This is not only misleading but also a breach of trust and professional responsibility. I expect transparency and accountability in financial dealings, especially in matters where written or verbal agreements have been made.
I respectfully request:
1. A full breakdown of the fees deducted.
2. Immediate reimbursement of the overcharged amount (i.e., the 15% difference).
3. A written explanation as to why the agreed fee was not honoured.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this complaint to the Legal Ombudsman and/or the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), as I believe this is a clear breach of professional conduct.
I hope this issue can be resolved quickly and amicably.
Because I need to understand why I was paid out £717 will not accept this at all
