Extremely disappointing service – no value of money
I used Emma Turner Solicitors for my Daughters school admissions appeal, and I genuinely regret spending my money on their services. Based on my personal experience, the service was extremely disappointing. I ended up doing the majority of the work myself. I completed the paperwork and uploaded the supporting documents directly to the council’s website. During the appeal hearing, Emma spoke only briefly, and I had to step in and take over to cover important points myself. I expected professional representation and guidance, but instead, I felt I was left to fight my own case. Communication was poor, and I was disappointed by what I perceived as a lack of understanding of the local area and the specific circumstances surrounding the appeal. Much of the information and material provided was readily available online, and I was able to find similar information myself within minutes. For the amount I paid, I expected preparation, expertise, proactive communication and strong representation. Unfortunately, I did not feel I received value for money or the level of support I desperately needed at such a stressful time. What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that I was in a vulnerable position as a parent fighting for my child’s school place. I trusted that I was paying for someone with the expertise to guide and represent me properly, but I came away feeling let down and disappointed. I genuinely regret instructing this firm. Based on my experience, I would not use their services again, and I would encourage other parents to carefully research their options before committing their money. When you are already going through a stressful and emotional situation, the last thing you need is to feel that you are doing the work yourself despite paying for professional help.
