Poor experience
This was one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences I have ever had from a professional company. Communication was consistently poor, and my solicitor, Julie West was, in my experience, rude and extremely difficult to deal with. Deadlines were repeatedly missed, and delays meant that the case dragged on far longer than it ever should have. The final costs were also significantly higher than the estimates we were given at the outset. I escalated the matter to the Legal Ombudsman, who concluded that the service we received was not reasonable and awarded us £4,500 in compensation. They also confirmed in writing to me that they ‘have made a misconduct referral to the SRA’, the firm’s regulators. I also intend to submit my own referral. Everything in this review is based on my direct experience, documented correspondence and the Ombudsman’s official findings. If you are considering instructing this firm, I would strongly advise getting every estimate, timescale and expectation confirmed in writing before you proceed. Despite the independent findings of the Legal Ombudsman, I anticipate a response from the firm to this review, true to previous form. However, information pertaining to the judgement will shortly be publicly accessible.
