“With Judy Johnson’s help, we achieved an outcome that had seemed almost impossible. Judy was highly recommended to us as a children’s lawyer. She supported us in caring for a deeply troubled teenager.
When we found ourselves in conflict with a local authority and social workers whom we believed had failed both the young person and us. Those concerns ultimately came before the family courts.
In our experience, good hearted carers of foster placements, special guardian arrangements, and similar settings can be unfairly discredited when local authorities seek to avoid responsibility and shift blame.
Judy Johnson is an outstanding lawyer who stood by us throughout six gruelling months in which we felt relentlessly vilified.
We trusted her judgment at every stage, even as two elderly people facing circumstances we could scarcely have imagined.
Judy guided us through every accusation and challenge, including what we regarded as malicious falsehoods intended to damage our reputation.
We thought we had already experienced everything life could throw at us, but we were wrong.
With Judy’s support, we withstood the local authorities attempt to avoid responsibility for what we believe was gross neglect.
We wish more lawyers like Judy were available to help grandparents like us, who feel failed by the judicial system and confronted by local authorities whose conduct, in our experience, knows no bounds.
In our experience, departments close ranks—-from social workers—-school staff—while serious complaints about dishonesty and misconduct go unaddressed.
Judy Johnson, we can never thank you enough for helping us escape the appalling abuse we endured and for securing yesterday’s decisive victory.”

“So just thought to leave a review, a bit late (2 years to be precise) but couldn't recommend a better family solicitors. I won custody of my son 2 years or so ago with the help of Kerry and her team. As a dad it's never easy to get custody even with everything in your favour I know this but I couldn't of asked for better legal advice and help than I got here. Would recommend 100%.”

“I contacted Nelson’s on the recommendation of another client and was allocated Melanie Brigden. After the initial consultation I was more than confident that Melanie and of course Melanie 2 could handle this somewhat difficult case! Initially I went with a child arrangement order which both parents objected to but Melanie soon dealt with their objections and the order was given … I went for an SGO order as well and although it’s wasn’t granted didn’t feel it was anything to do with the lack of attention to detail by Melanie her hands were tied by social worker recommendation. This still didn’t stop Melanie pushing in court for the best outcome possible on the day .. I am totally happy my granddaughter gets to grow up in a safe , loving and stable future. I would recommend the two Melanie’s and employ them again in a minute . ”

“After going through a messy break up with my daughters mother I was deprived of my child and had all services possible weaponized against me. I needed professional legal help. The firms solicitor I had was Cheryl copper who I can't thank enough for all her hard work and effort on my case. Cheryl was informative helpful and knowledgeable on the matter and went above and beyond to email and call me out of work hours when a safe guarding issue occurred and helped me to get my daughter into a safe environment where she's happy and thriving living with me. The barrister i had for court was also amazing at her job and fought my corner very well and made sure my daughter stays with me. I can't express my gratitude enough for all the hard work you've all put in over the months. It's been an absolute pleasure to have such a great team supporting me and my daughter. I will never forget how you helped me Cheryl. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Nicholas Rowlands. ”
