This work covers situations where a possession order has been granted and a buyer seeks to purchase the property, often through the lender’s repossession process or related arrangements, and how to complete the purchase thereafter. It also includes guidance on negotiating the terms of a possession order, responding to eviction proceedings, and ensuring the title can be transferred when the property is being repossessed or sold out of possession. A solicitor helps with drafting and reviewing notices, communicating with the lender or landlord, gathering occupancy information, and coordinating with the seller, purchaser, and courts to complete the transaction. The process is shaped by court deadlines, enforcement mechanisms, and the need to secure a valid transfer of title under relevant housing and property rules.
The key protections relate to enforcing or defending possession, meeting strict court deadlines, and securing a secure title transfer in a sale that follows a possession order. A solicitor can help manage the timing of forms, ensure compliance with potential consent orders or undertakings, and verify that any occupancy rights are properly addressed before completion.

I found Gardner Leader to be the best solicitor's I have ever used for conveyancing. Their communication was great, and their actions were timely. The costs were slightly more expensive than others but worth paying for the superior quality of service.

Graeme dealt with the sale of my late mother's house in Cornwall. Under difficult circumstances of COVID, the service was excellent. He was always responsive to any questions/enquiries and even when he was away from the office he made sure there was continuity, resulting in a prompt sale completion. Thank you

We used Susan Cheesewright and her team for the sale of my mothers house. We obtained a number of quotes and looked at online reviews. The reviews for Paul Robinson Solicitors were very good and their quoted price was also very good (the various quotes we received from solicitors varied a lot, which surprised us) The whole process ran smoothly, but what was outstanding was the level of communication from Susan and her team. If I telephones someone was always available and replies to all my emails were quick. I was kept informed of the status of the sale at all times. Many thanks.
