Half through trying to complete a divorce amicably myself all of a sudden I needed legal help, this is when I was introduced to Slater Heelis. After a quick introduction to one of their partners, I was quickly assigned council, Jodi and she did a marvellous job of straightening out the mess I was in. Nature intervened and at very short notice, Corrie Gerrard had to step up the plate and what a wonderful impression she has made on me. Isn't it annoying when firms say they'll ring you back and don't? or that'll you'll be kept informed, and you hear nothing? Well you don't get that with Corrie! At all times I was kept informed of progress, issues that cropped up or things I needed to get on with myself. More importantly are her virtues mentioned in the title; tenacity and persistence. Corrie had to deal with apathetic and unresponsive 3rd parties and consistently kept on grinding away at them until and even beyond deadlines to get the best outcome possible in my own particular case. Corrie Gerrard is an asset to the company and a pleasure to deal with.

Sarah Jane phoned me dead on the time I had agreed with her assistant and from the 1st Hello, I was immediately put at ease by her friendly and professional manner. James has represented me as a Barrister in the last two court hearings in complex proceedings for child arrangements that lasted two years and with a last bundle of documents comprising of 389 pages. Although he wasn’t representing me for the first three hearing, his knowledge and insight on my case was excellent and what he brought to the Court attention in my last two Position Statements was decisive. His help and idea, to apply for an urgent in person hearing to solve a mistake made by an external agency for a Psychological Assessment ordered by the Judge, was crucial. Without his professional advice we wouldn’t have been able to submit such an important document. I am very grateful that, even though he is a In-House Barrister, he agreed to represent me also in my last hearing, even though it was a Pre-Trial of a Fact Finding Hearing. As the proceeding where taking a high toll on my mental health, with anxiety and PTSD, I appreciated very much his calm composure, preparedness, capacity to build trust and his empathy.
