This work covers locating and obtaining a deceased person’s valid will, or proving there is no last will, in addition to obtaining a copy if needed. A solicitor collects, checks and, if required, applies to the Probate Registry to obtain the appropriate legal authority to deal with the estate. They may liaise with executors, families, banks and other institutions to confirm where the will is kept, arrange for sworn statements, and safeguard the will’s terms for execution.
