Complex Wills covers high‑value estates, intricate trust structures and tax planning within a valid will, often involving complementary lifetime gifts, nil‑rate band planning and cross‑border considerations. A solicitor in this area drafts and reviews sophisticated wills, prepares and registers testamentary trusts, advises on inheritance tax, and coordinates executorship and probate to protect the intended distribution of an estate. They liaise with executors, navigate disputes over validity or interpretation, and manage fiduciary duties across complex beneficiaries and assets.
The role safeguards decisive, time‑sensitive decisions about asset distribution and tax planning, including the creation and administration of trusts and executorships. A regulated solicitor provides professional accountability, handles complex evidence and documentation, and ensures compliance with applicable estate, tax and succession rules to protect the client’s position after death.

Tagged solicitor Paul Baker
I used Paul to draft my Will which was relatively complex because I wished it to create, if necessary, a vulnerable person trust for my wife who is in 24 hour nursing care and unable to look after herself. I then wished the residual estate to be divided between family and other personal beneficiaries and charitable bequests. Paul took great care to understand my wishes and then to explain the draft Will and associated Letter of Wishes. All done speedily and sympathetically.
