Marie was brilliant when dealing with my legal matter, she turned things around quickly and supported me throughout the process. I researched carefully local solicitors who could deal with a work related issue for me. I chose Marie at Goodharts, primarily because of previous reviews I had read, and she was based in Newcastle (imortant to support local businesses). I have worked with solicitors for over 40 years and Marie is by far the most efficient solicitor I have dealt with. I contacted Goodharts to help me to resolve an employment issue requiring a settlement agreement. I was immediately put through directly to speak to Marie Colquhoun. I can honestly say she immediately made me feel at ease and comfortable to discuss my case with her. He knowledge and professionalism, combined with her caring approach, has helped me to deal with the most traumatic experience I have ever encountered, and resolve the issue is a very swift timescale.
Marie is so knowledgeable in employment law and gave me a full breakdown of my case, and the directions we could go. She supported me with my decisions and acted quickly and personally to every question I had. I can honestly say that without Marie's expert advice and support I would not have resolved my issue.

I am still undergoing issues but after 10 months I have everyone in my close circle asking me how I got through hard times & am still finding the strength to get through what I did… the answer is MARIE! She is the most kind & knowledgeable solicitor there is & will get back to you in a heartbeat no matter the situation. She really has it all. Her extensive, In depth knowledge & patience has got me through what has been the most testing time in my career & personal life. Firstly, I called a few different solicitors after having some pretty stressful issues with my employer. The majority got back to me, however their paralegals were simply emailing me asking for a time/date appointment with the actual solicitor. Not Marie, she called me herself and took 30 minutes to understand my situation before moving forward.
During the process, she kept me informed and formed some very clear arguments aimed at my ex-employer (at the time!). There was above and beyond care and attention put into the documents she was drafting on my behalf, giving me options and allowing for my wants, regardless of whether they were constructive, in hindsight… it was comforting to be listened to.
Without her support I doubt the outcome that was achieved would have came to fruition, she fought my corner and really isnt scared of a legal-fight!
I’m glad I decided to call Goodharts that day and will pay for her services in a heart beat again should I need to.

I found myself very suddenly and very unexpectedly in an extremely distressing and unpleasant situation with my employer. I really didn’t know where to turn. Luckily for me, I called Marie Colquhoun at Goodharts. She listened to my issues and despite my extremely distressed state she was a voice of calm, reassurance and clarity when I needed it most. Marie is as tenacious as she is professional. She guided me through the issues and fought my corner at a time when I wasn’t strong enough to. She knows the law inside out and won’t be intimidated or dismissed. Marie negotiated on my behalf and settled the case very quickly without the need to go to tribunal. She is a consummate professional and I would not hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone who is having employment law issues.
