Unfortunately I did not have a smooth experience with Banner Jones. What I believed to be a very straight forward sale, of an empty property to a first time buyer, it actually took 4 months to complete. I completed a portal for the sale which I expected to ease communication between myself and the solicitor, and keep me well informed of progress and reduce my stress, but after the initial completion of information on the portal this was not used again. In addition when expected to review memorandum of sale I was unable to access the document and had to ask it to be emailed to me. Communication from the solicitor was poor, no information on progress was offered and I had to repeatedly chase to ensure issues were addressed. An issue with Land Registry was resolved through a phone call by myself after several days of being told the solicitor was chasing but land registry were not responding. The problem was my solicitor was quoting the wrong reference number for my case. Easily resolved! I was repeatedly told that progress was slow and problems were because the buyers solicitors were not responding. I also thought my buyers were being difficult. Communication through my estate agent though proved that this was not the case. Selling a house is a stressful experience in its own right. Banner Jones did nothing to ease this stress. With a time consuming job I often had to make additional time to make phone calls and wait for the call back as they were never available to answer my questions. Please, if using them proceed with caution and get ready for a long process.
