Not the best
Dont like to complain as Lauren seemed a nice person, but here goes.
Only met Lauren at the initial visit and a few claims got me to agree to use you
1 I was told that the divorce would cost between £1k and £3k. I know this cannot be judged accurately but I did as much of the copying etc as I could myself and got a friend to ferry as much paperwork between me and your office as possible. I also answered much of my exs solicitors questions and requests by myself
2 I was told that in most cases any pensions are generally split pretty equally with a few things such as age and closeness to retirement etc taken into account, so I went along knowing my ex had a decent pension, expecting a good share of it. However it turned out that contributions before the relationship started are a grey area, and also her NHS pension, though she had paid into it for years, seemed almost untouchable. Laura wanted me to pay out circa an extra 3k to get a pensions expert to look into it, but after asking was told there was no guarantee I would get any of her pensions let alone the 60 odd% that was mentioned initially. I was scared by this and didnt really have the £3k to gamble with, so had to haggle what I could directly with my ex. I ended up getting 40% of my exs private pension and the NHS pension was kept by her as well as the 60%.
This left a sour taste really and I felt I had been rather misled on the pension scenario as well as the costs being much higher than estimated for not a great deal of benefit to me.
Also it seemed like Lauren washed her hands of me when I refused to go with the £3k pension advice and I was left to use my financial advisor to chase the 40% payment, I also had to get the news the divorce had gone through from my ex, and Lauren was not in touch about it for a good couple of months, I just thought that wasnt right really
