Victoria has worked in the Childcare and Family Team, alongside Rachel Carter, specialising in complex care proceedings involving allegations of Non-Accidental Injury and Factitious illness since she joined Wollens in 2017. She acts for parents and carers within these complex proceedings which involve allegations of physical abuse such as shaken baby syndrome, fractures, bruises, factitious illness, etc. She works with clients all over the country (from Cornwall to Newcastle) and represent people in all courts including the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. Most of her work is legally aided (parents within care proceedings are automatically entitled to full legal aid). As a result of the amount of NAI work she undertakes and working closely with Rachel Carter, Victoria has considerable experience in the area and have formed excellent working relationships both with barristers also specialising in this line of work and with medical experts who undertake reports for such cases. As a result, she has had much success in securing a child’s return to their parents’ care. Further information about the work undertaken by myself and Rachel Carter can be found at the Parents Accused blog site here: www.parentsaccused.co.uk She has also been published in the Family Law Journal writing on the subject of appeals within the Public Child Law system. Outside of work Victoria has an eclectic range of interests including beekeeping, sketching, and baking. She is friendly, approachable and always willing to lend a sympathetic ear.

Highly Recommended

I switched to Victoria about 4–5 months into proceedings after feeling unheard by my original local solicitors. I’d been accused of NAI and, even though I knew I’d done nothing wrong, the way the local authority spoke left me terrified I’d never get my children back. Victoria changed everything - she explained things clearly, explored every avenue, was always at the end of the phone or email and helped me cope with my anxiety. With her and her brilliant barristers I had no findings made against me and now I get to tuck my children into bed every night. Thank you Victoria for all your help (and for putting up with my very long emails!)

Thank you Victoria

Victoria is a tenacious lawyer who fights incredibly hard for her clients. I could rely on Victoria to be honest, efficient and proactive. But just as importantly, she was a listening ear when I needed it. She had an eye for fairness and knew exactly what we should have to help us get to the bottom of our case. My case has finished, my family is happy… I can’t thank or recommend Victoria enough!

Amazing solicitor

One word that describes Victoria, amazing! Nearly 10 months ago our lives were tipped upside down by an accident that happened within our family home to our 9 week old baby. Of course as parents we were distraught and at a loss of what happens and what to do next. Victoria was amazing throughout, explained what happens at each stage and reassured me. I had awful anxieties throughout and Victoria always reassured me throughout. Along with that Victoria always made sure I had amazing barristers in court! Without Victoria and the team around her we wouldn’t be getting our little boy home! Truly amazing work. Thank you so much.

Thank You

I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for Victoria. Our families world was turned upside down, and from the very beginning Victoria has been there to support us, guide us through a completely alien process and ultimately get us the right result. Victoria is calm and clear, but also very honest and realistic, which is exactly what you need when navigating through these proceedings. Victoria, alongside the wonderful Alicia and an amazing barrister (sourced by Victoria), ensured no findings were made against me, and that our family was reunited. To fellow parents, carers, or the accused - so sorry for what you are facing, but Victoria will help you through it. Thank you always.

Life changing

I thought I’d lost my son to social services at the dreaded age of 9 weeks old due to being severely unwell. Victoria and her team done the best that I could’ve ever wished for and cleared my name as well as getting my son back into my care.
