Solicitor at SEN Legal Limited

Hayley Mason-Seager

Solicitor - Senior Solicitor & CEO

SRA ID: 617835

I am Senior Solicitor and Director at SEN Legal; principally based at our offices in Cambridge although I represent clients nationally. I have successfully acted for parents across a number of Local Authority areas - from obtaining an EHC Needs Assessment right through to extremely complex post-19 Appeals. I have a vast range of expertise in SEND Tribunal work and I carry out all of the legal work involved with representing parents of children/young persons in the SEND Tribunal in order to obtain fundamental special educational provision for them. I have excellent interpersonal skills in order to assure parents throughout the Appeal process and am skilled in explaining the complexities of what is an undeniably complex field. I am also specialist in the area of Court of Protection and have written a chapter on ‘Deputyship’ in ‘Special Educational Needs and Legal Entitlement, getting out of the maze 2nd edition’ which is written by our Principal Solicitor, Melinda Nettleton and co-author John Friel. I have experience in S21A challenges in the Court of Protection.

Deputyship for Property and Affairs

5

This firm were very honest from the outset. Had complete confidence in them. It took a long time for the Deputyship for P&A to be awarded, partly due to delays with dealing with the Court of Protection, but it is a long drawn out process. Always kept informed when there was news. Supposedly a family can a go through the process without support from a solicitor, however I think that would be extremely difficult. Recommend SEN Legal 100%.

ABA SLT and OT provision in mainstream for non verbal 4 year old girl

5

We came to SEN Legal after we had applied for our 3 year old girls EHCP and after 10 months the LA produced a poor EHCP which failed to specify even a 1:1 for her, when we had provided evidece of her successful ABA programme and private weekly SLT and requested these to continue. SENLegal supported us through the appeal process as well as through tribunal, and following tribunal, to obtain the final EHCP and secure the personal budget for ABA and SLT. SEN Legal were proffesional, kind, knowlegable and patient. We could not have obtained an adequete education for my daughter without them. The investment I made in them is worthwhile and I will not hesitate to use SENLegal in the future to further secure education or social care provision for my daughter when the LA fail to do so.
