Amelia is a Solicitor in the family team. She deals primarily with private legal matters such as divorce, finances, and children disputes. Amelia first started studying law at A-Level in 2013. She then attended Plymouth University from 2015 to 2018 and graduated with an upper second-class honour in Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies. She then went on to study the Legal Practice Course alongside a Masters in law at the University in Law in Bristol from 2018 to 2019. After completing the Legal Practice Course, Amelia worked at local law firms between 2019 and 2021, both within the family team, joining Wollens in July 2021. She started her training contract (two years of work-based qualifications) in October 2022 and completed this to become fully qualified in October 2024. Amelia has, therefore, studied law for over 10 years and practised for 5 years. She has gained a vast amount of experience during this time. Below are some examples of the work she has carried out: Assisting a client in a complex divorce whereby the husband lived in America and would not respond to the divorce paperwork. Representing a client throughout children proceedings whereby they could not agree on who the children live with and how often they spend time with the other parent and extended family. Advising a client on their options when they were faced with their ex-partner not agreeing for them to take their child on holiday. Representing a client throughout court proceedings whereby there had been high levels of domestic violence throughout their relationship. Drafting Consent Orders to reflect the parties not having a right to make any future financial claims against each other upon divorce. Representing a client throughout children proceedings whereby the father had been previously accused of harming their child and then made an application for contact. Advising a client who was being prohibited by their ex-partner from having any contact with their child. Representing a client throughout children proceedings who had been convicted of a serious sexual offence and wanted contact with their children. Representing a client throughout children proceedings whereby they wanted contact with their newborn baby. Representing a client who had been in and out of children proceedings for years with another solicitor.

Amazing solicitor with brilliant service!

I have been with Wollens for some time now during child arrangement proceedings but only worked with Amelia for the past year or so now. Wollens have been absolutely fantastic during the entire case but my experience working with Amelia has been exceptional. I cannot fault anything about her work and will most definitely recommend/request her if myself or anyone else of that matter needs legal advice/representation. In times when I have felt extremely vulnerable or needed reassurance, Amelia’s fast and supportive communication with me has really made the difference. Amelia keeps to the fact and does not leave room for doubt. Every time I have had to make big decisions within the proceedings Amelia does not leave any stone unturned. She has made sure details are explained to the best of her ability and explains each outcome clearly. For quite some time I was a private paying client but Amelia was able to finally get me my legal aid certificate I was eligible for (but hard to get). Amelia really has gone above and beyond to get the best outcome of my court proceedings and I will forever be grateful. She is brilliant at her job and Wollens should be proud to have such an asset working for the company!

Highly Recommended

Amelia has been fantastic throughout the whole process. She always gave great and honest advice and though the outcome was not what I wanted, I could not have asked for better representation. I was always kept informed and given solid advice and always felt as if my best interests were a priority. I would definitely recommend Wollens and would use again.
