The case stemmed from the collapse of Cambridge Analytica in 2018, a company that had gained global notoriety following its involvement in the 2016 Trump presidential campaign. The claimants—billionaire-backed Dynamo Recoveries Ltd. and Emerdata Ltd.—sought damages from me, alleging breaches of fiduciary and statutory duties as well as misrepresentations.
