I specialise in all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration including mediation and expert determination. I handle a wide range of commercial disputes across a broad range of industry sectors, including claims for breach of contract, claims in negligence, claims amongst directors and shareholders, claims for breach of statutory/fiduciary duties, claims relating to reputation management, claims relating to restrictive covenants and claims arising from the supply of goods and services. A great deal of my time is spent providing clients with clear, results-focused, strategic advice on how to avoid disputes crystallising. When they do, I take the time to understand my clients' commercial objectives, and develop tailored strategies to achieve these objectives in the most cost-efficient manner. I am experienced in prosecuting and defending claims, applications for interim measures and applications for urgent injunctive relief in the County Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

    The advice and service we received from Matt was excellent when my husband and I faced a serious and potentially litigious problem earlier this year. He responded quickly and with support and empathy and his advice was 💯 sound and appropriate for the situation. He turned a letter around super quickly to strike while the iron was hot, so to speak. He also followed up a week or so later to see how we were and if there had been any further repercussions which was very much appreciated. He offered to support us further if necessary. Cannot recommend Matt Dudley enough.

    Debt Recovery

    Higgs assisted us with a debt recovery matter with regards to a company attempting to claim a contractually binding debt was from a subsidiary rather than the parent company.
