Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in January 2012, having worked in different roles within a Hull based law firm since 1997. Nicola joined Bridge McFarland LLP in October 2018 and became a Partner of the firm in 2022. In February 2025 Nicola was awarded the Law Society’s Accreditation for Clinical Negligence which supports her wealth of experience within the field of medical negligence claims. Specialising in complex claims involving difficult causation arguments and assessment of damages with a particular interest in helping women to rebuild their lives after traumatic birthing injuries, she has acted on a number of claims covering all areas of medicine, in particular, gynaecological/obstetric injury including the loss of a baby, orthopaedic/vascular issues leading to amputation and delayed diagnosis of cancer claims. She also has significant experience supporting bereaved families when a death was preventable and has supported families through the Coronial Inquest process. Nicola is pleased to provide pro bono advice and supports a variety of organisations/charities and enjoys being involved in her local rural community with charitable projects. “Very early on in my career I secured compensation to provide financial support to a family of 7 children who lost their mother to cervical cancer which would have been curable, had an opportunity to diagnose not been missed. Whilst no amount of money would replace a young mother the money secured would go some way to provide the grandmother with the support she required to care for the young family as they grew up without the love of their mother. That case made me realise that my passion was to help people rebuild their lives after suffering harm through medical negligence.”

Medical negligence claim

This company has been amazing from start to the finish of my award. My award took some time to complete but Bridge Mc Farlands never gave up pushing for my claim. The process for me was made easy. Nicola in particular pushed hard for my claim and eventually I received a settlement that I am happy to accept.

My medical negligence claim

From the first time I consulted Nicola she and her assistant Lisa have been very helpful. The are both very professional and at the same time kind enough to explain every step we went through. I never felt I was bothering them they always had time to go through things. They fought long and hard to get what we wanted. Highly recommend this company.

Medical Negligence

After suffering terribly due to medical negligence, I was advised to persue a claim and the company allocated Nicola to represent me. She was fantastic throughout, both in presenting my case but also the support she gave during the entire process. Nicola went above and beyond, I would highly recommend and have done so already.

Thank you

I cannot thank Nicola Evans at Bridge McFarland LLP enough for her exceptional support throughout our clinical negligence case. From the very beginning, Nicola was compassionate, approachable, and always took the time to explain things clearly. As someone with limited experience in legal matters, I never felt that any question was too small or insignificant—she was always patient and understanding. Nicola’s communication was outstanding; she kept us informed at every stage of the process, ensuring we always knew what to expect. She fought our corner with determination while remaining realistic and honest about the case. Her professionalism, combined with her genuine care and empathy, made a difficult journey more manageable. She is a credit to Bridge McFarland LLP, and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of legal support. Nicola brought light at the end of what has been an incredibly challenging time for our family, and for that, we are very grateful.
