Jane graduated from Durham University before qualifying as a solicitor in 1996 with Batcheldors, which later merged with Woodfines. Jane left Woodfines to join the First Law Partnership in 2005 to develop her criminal legal aid practice, during which time she established a strong reputation and client base in the local criminal courts; appearing regularly in the Magistrates and Crown Courts as a higher court advocate having attained her higher rights of audience. The FLP merged with Cartwright King and Jane used her time there to expand her practice to include regulatory law, whilst remaining a committed court advocate. Jane re-joined the team here at Woodfines in 2017, adding a wealth of experience and further improving our specialist Transport team. She has a particular interest in POCA proceedings, advising on the rights of third parties and representing individuals and businesses subject to applications for cash seizures, restraint and confiscation. Having spent over 20 years defending those involved within the Criminal Justice System, Jane continues to skilfully and robustly represent the interests of individuals and businesses investigated and prosecuted by the Police, CPS, Local Authorities, the Health and Safety Executive and other Crown Agencies.

    The only legal representatives that I could recommend.

    I have been involved in criminal and civil cases where Jane Anderson and Hannah Johnson have advised and represented my clients. The service in all cases has been professional, competent and has resulted favourable (in some cases, amazing) outcomes. I have had experience of barristers, lawyers and solicitors from other firms in the past who were ill prepared and did not help. The UK law system is as fair as possible but court hearings are so, so important. Having the best possible representation is essential and I find that Woodfines LLP is the only firm that I could recommend.

    Always On The Ball!

    I didn't know what to expect, but Jane Anderson showed a very genuine interest, was completely, even "forensically" aware of all aspects of the case, spotting facts and drawing inferences that I had missed. I can say, without exaggeration, that I have total confidence in her. In the unfortunate event that I should need a criminal lawyer again, I would not even consider anyone else. All that and she is a good egg too!

    I have always had great experiences with Woodfines, whether it be Jane Anderson in the Magistrates Court, David Webster as Conveyancer, John Leadbeater in Family Court where I worked once or the new Cambridge recruit, Tom Hale, who so patiently produced my Will, after many queries from me, poor man!
