I applied to Higgs because I wanted to join a firm that struck a good balance between its culture and offering a high level of quality work. I discovered Higgs at a law fair at BPP University in Birmingham and the trainees I spoke with were easily the most approachable and down to Earth, and as I am from Wolverhampton, I liked the idea of joining one of the largest and more traditional (although still progressive) firms in the West Midlands. I attended an open day/evening which was really impressive and I managed to get a good feel for the personality of the firm. It was important to me that I trained at a firm that would not only provide me the best experience I needed to start my career as a solicitor, but also in one that I would feel comfortable doing so.

    Founders first MBO.

    This was our first MBO, and it was a steep learning curve. Higgs helped guide us through the legal side of the process and were available when we needed clarity or reassurance. They produced strong documentation and helped us protect our position as founders. We found the whole team answered all our questions in a way we could understand, turned documentation around quickly and kept us upto date with where we were in the process.

    Invaluable Help with Corporate Transaction

    I worked with Jamie Partington and Richard Freeman at Higgs as the Buyer in an MBO transaction, and I couldn't have asked for better advisers throughout the process.
