Layna qualified as a solicitor in March 2011 whist working for a London-based law firm, where she initially specialised in defending white collar crime including criminal confiscation, asset forfeiture, fraud and money laundering. Layna developed an interest in property law as assets often had to be sold at the conclusion of criminal confiscation proceedings and clients were keen for Layna to continue acting for them in all aspects of their legal needs. Layna joined Palmers Solicitors in June 2017 as an Associate Solicitor initially to create, grow and develop the Property Team in our Rayleigh office, however combining her Litigation and property expertise Layna moved to the Construction Law department where she now works closely with the head of the Construction and Engineering Law Department, Adam Davis. In February 2023, she was promoted to Senior Associate. Layna is a member of the Society for Construction Lawyers. Cannot recommend Palmers enough - Layna and James offer a first class service the whole way through the process. We used them for conveyancing but will be using them for any transactions going forward.
As a first time buyer it was a little bit of a minefield trying to find the "best" solicitors to go with - if you are currently searching then I would look no more and go with Palmers for a stress free transaction.

I have used Palmer's Solicitors for conveyancing on more than one occasion and would absolutely use them again. Layna Thompson in particular is fantastic; personable, professional, efficient and very knowledgeable. Layna always kept me informed and updated regularly, acted quickly and efficiently and always responded to my queries within 24 hours. This is particularly commendable during the early days of the covid-19 crisis when everybody was working under increased pressure and unusual circumstances. I highly recommend.

The first moment I met Layna I was extremely impressed. She was friendly, informative and professional every step of the way. She explained everything to us and nothing was ever too much bother. I cannot fault Palmers Solicitors in Rayleigh. Layna and Chantelle are first class solicitors, who really know their job. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they deal with everything professionally, but also with a personal touch. Their expertise means you can sit back and relax, knowing your legal matters are in safe hands. I would highly recommend using their services.
