I don't normally write reviews but I'm so impressed with Blackadders that I wanted to. I used them to sell and buy my new home and cannot thank Pam, Jamie and Colin enough. They were so helpful and friendly, and I could completely trust them to get the job done. I can't believe the difference in their service compared to previous solicitors I've used. The service from the Blackadders team was faultless from start to finish. Purchasing a property is stressful and can be full of unknowns but Jamie and his team provided prompt and detailed communications. This made the process smooth and took the pressure off. I would highly recommend!

Overcharged and disappointed.
Instead of putting their clients’ interests first, our solicitors main aim seemed to be to extract the maximum fees possible. This was done by a combination of delays, mistakes, further mistakes, extra work created as a result of mistakes and delays, doing “work” that had not been requested, and repeating themselves, apparently just for the sake of it. When asked for an itemised bill, I found an item charged with other clients names (nothing to do with us) and a number of unnecessary charges.
The initial agreement issued is not satisfactory to understand how one will be charged. If using, request monthly bills and ask for more details about precisely what they are going to charge. I cannot ever imagine being in a situation where I receive a bill for several thousands of pounds with no idea why! How wrong of me to presume that lawyers would operate their businesses with transparency on costs. If they believe you have money, they just try to get their hands on it one way or another!

Blackadders have made the whole process of selling our home incredibly easy. From marketing the property to dealing with viewer requests and eventually to closing the sale they were excellent. Moving on to the solicitor side of the sale, we dealt with one person the whole time which made the process stress free as the solicitor was responsive and kept us up to date with the progress. I'd highly recommend Blackadders to anyone who is looking to sell their home or purchase a new house.
