My experience with Chester & Co Solicitors was poor and fell significantly below what I would reasonably expect from a regulated firm. One transaction was delayed for over a year. Throughout this period, I was repeatedly advised that the buyer’s solicitor was hindering progress. I have since been informed directly by the buyer’s solicitor that they had in fact been actively chasing Chester & Co for several months, and that the lease documentation produced was not fit for purpose for mortgage lender approval due to missing and incomplete clauses. As a result, the documentation could not be submitted to the lender and exchange could not proceed within a reasonable timeframe. More recently, the firm declined to complete two further company property sales due to concerns relating to the personal bankruptcy of a former director, despite the company being a separate legal entity and that individual no longer holding a directorial role. Independent legal advice subsequently obtained confirmed that this should not have prevented the firm from acting on behalf of the company. Overall, the service was characterised by excessive and avoidable delay, inadequate legal work, and unclear communication about the causes of that delay. This resulted in financial loss and the need to instruct another firm to rectify the issues and progress the transactions. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.
I recently used Chester & Co for the conveyancing for my flat sale. The overall process was a smooth and reasonably straightforward process. There ware a couple of complications associated with the lease which were dealt with extremely well and in a timely manner. Communication with Holly and her team was excellent and they kept me updated throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Chester & Co to others.

Holly & her Team were superb, very knowledgeable and quick tyo respond. I have worked with solicitors in the past and have been forever chasing and waiting. This was not the case with Chester & Co. Holly made me feel comfortable and confident in putting my trust in her to manage our house purchase, she was a pleasure to deal with and very personable. We have waited a long time (due to Land Registry),but it has honestly been a pleasure and not stressful due to the communication throughout. And I cannot thank Holly enough for pushing through the exchange and completion to get us in before Christmas and before my offer expired, she really has been quite amazing. Thank you so much :)

Chester & Co in Bournemouth guided me through a property sale that was anything but straightforward. The house itself was in Manchester, one sibling proved difficult to get decisions from, and my late parents had never had the original lease registered in their names. This meant the team had to liaise with the freeholder’s solicitors and the Land Registry to secure registration, and even arrange a deed of variation because the lease showed the wrong garage. Throughout, they were calm, organised and unfazed. I was kept informed with clear updates by phone and email, so I always understood exactly what stage we were at. Their quoted conveyancing fee was very reasonable and they honoured it right through to completion, no hidden charges or surprises. On the day the sale completed, the buyer’s payment cleared and my funds were released to me that same day, reflecting just how efficient they are. For anyone looking for a conveyancing solicitor who combines professionalism, transparency and real attention to detail, I can confidently recommend Chester & Co. They handled a complex sale seamlessly and made the whole process far less stressful than I ever expected.

I am a practising accountant and I was recommended by a local Estate Agent to use Chester & Co for the sale of a London property by a client The process became very complex and had lengthy delays and serious complications, Pebelle really supported us and sorted out every new hurdle that was put in the way, ensuring things kept moving forward. She was very good with my client who is elderly with little knowledge or understanding of UK property selling procedures. Communication was great whether by phone or e mail. She was always professional and with good attention to detail. We were charged the fee quoted at the outset plus what I felt was a very reasonable additional fee for the extra work required to complete the sale. (especially when compared to other professional fees incurred with the transaction) Anyone looking for a reliable, friendly, and highly competent solicitor. Thank you for all your hard work!

We have just purchased our first property and Lucy’s exceptional service made everything straightforward and stress-free from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful, efficient, and always quick to respond to any questions. And as newbies to the buying scene she would answer no matter how small or insignificant they might have seemed! Lucy would explain everything new to us, which gave us real confidence at every stage of the process. We’re extremely grateful for all her support and would highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable solicitor.
