Very very dissapointing company

Hired to deal with my deceased brothers medical affairs. Very very dissapointing firm no communication lose all paperwork and just did not care at all about the time they wasted now 5 months. This company is one to avoid other less dressy firms whom do it better just a fancy outfutvof show boaters that maje money from misery and hide in thier ivory towers passing the blame onto the client for thier mistakes.

Numerous mistakes, only interested in clocking as much time (including charging you for their mistakes). Didn't listen to the ask and simply made very expensive assumptions. Didn't provide any progress of cost updates. Got extremely short and defensive when challenged. Ended up terminating early with zero progress and a very expensive bill.

Awful service and limited experience

Carrying out all parts of my mother who passed away in 2021.
No communication
No knowledge on selling property even although it was in the West End of Edinburgh
5 times I phoned I received no calls back
I suppose their exorbitant prices are needed to pay for an office in the West End of Edinburgh

Best interests

Lyndsays handled my fathers estate . It was dealt with through my alcoholic sister . I was shocked at the state they allowed my fathers house to go on the market .
A wee lick of paint and some basic gardening would have made the world of difference to the sale price .
No doubt my sister hassled them to be as quick as they could but I thought their duty was to do the best for the client ( my deceased father ) which is obviously not what they done .

Expensive and poor service

I used this company as it was my fathers solicitor when he died. They charged very high costs with little justification as the will was straight forward and we had consolidated his estate before his death as my sister and I had POA of his affairs in his latter years. To compound this they made several mistakes. they do not appear to double check work of junior staff. I could not recommend this company to anyone!

Lindsays Solicitor review

Very poor conveyancing service. Took 4 months to do a cash buy, provided very limited advice or guidance through the process. I had to constantly chase them to progress the transaction and push them for a completion date. Worst of all, whilst they said from the outset that they were not the cheapest, twice they raised their prices and there was nothing I could do due to their control. Not recommend this firm. Read two other reviews and they faced the same promblem on raised prices. Refused to do as I asked about keeping my details digitally, to save time, effort and future cost.

Stepped in and helped us get across the line

We were having major issues with our solicitor at a different firm and were getting nowhere. I called Lindsays and after one conversation we were able to push forward with the purchase of our new house. They made every thing very straightforward. Very clear with what they needed from us and also didn't ask for ridiculous things like our previous solicitor. Would recommend them highly to anyone else.

We have used Miller Hendry for years, having sold 2 house of our own as well as having them draw up our wills. However when it came to selling my Dads house, which was at the lower value end, the service was not as good as we had experienced previously. The schedule was poor and photographs substandard, so much so we took better ones which we asked to be added to the schedule. They were very uncommunicative about who was viewing and when. The main point was that the set of keys we had provided went missing after they were posted to the buyers surveyor, we then had to go get a new set made. the fault according to your staff was with the buyers surveyors having assured us the keys were in the envelope, but surely the keys shouldn't have been posted in the first place. We are planning on selling our house but not with Miller Hendry, really sorry as we have always had great service in the past.
