We instructed Adnan on a sale and purchase. He was incredibly professional, efficient and proactive. We genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better service. Initially there were several errors on the contract for the house sale. After completion it took over 2 years to finalise matters during which time I received no communication unless I wrote and asked. Finally when our deeds arrived they were posted to the wrong address.

I used Nicholls for the conveyancing on the sale of my home of 27 years and purchase of my new home. The experience was mostly positive however there were times when I felt like the conveyancer for the sale was acting for my purchaser rather than me, there was a lack of support and I also felt pressured into making decisions.

Kristel from Nicholls looked after my house purchase. Although the house took 7 months to complete (no chain, newish build) due to the slow working pace of the vendor's solicitor and the council, Kristel was always quick to respond to my emails, and always kept me updated about the progress. She also gave me good and pragmatic advice whenever required. I think the overall costs were reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend her!

Nicholls were efficient, friendly, and professional during our conveyancing process. Each member of the team kept us well informed throughout, and Adnan in particular towards the end of the process made sure we were able to go through any questions or concerns we had. Conveyancing solicitors get a bad rep, but I can honestly say that I would use Nicholls again in a heartbeat.

I instructed this firm for an urgent family court matter involving my son and paid a grand total of £2,252 in fees. I initially chose them because of a robust strategy discussed with a partner, Sarah Birdsey, who I understood would oversee the direction of the work. Instead, I was passed to their Head of Family Law, Rebecca Ranson, billing at £280 per hour, who in my opinion was completely out of her depth. Instead of deploying my funds to progress my case strategically, it felt as though my money was being drained through non-constructive, administrative correspondence. Shockingly, with a critical family court deadline looming, Rebecca Ranson actually sent me an email explicitly admitting she "did not see how [her] take on the case is going to assist you." Left completely stranded and abandoned by a so-called "Family Law specialist" right before a crucial hearing, I had to protect my case by drafting my own position statement and sourcing an external barrister entirely on my own. I raised a formal, methodically evidenced complaint directly to the partner, Sarah Birdsey, regarding this lack of competent strategy and the billing. To the firm's credit, Sarah Birdsey responded immediately. Rather than going through a prolonged 20-day investigation, she offered a "without prejudice" refund of £1,500 to close the file so I could take my case elsewhere. However, this still left me £752 out of pocket for "preparation" and administrative work that effectively yielded absolutely nothing of value for my case. While I am glad they returned the bulk of my money without a prolonged fight, the immense stress of being deserted by a law firm days before a court date was completely unacceptable. If you have a time-sensitive family law or child matter, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Rebecca and Isabel dealt with my case and they were very professional, but also, due to my emotional involvement, extremely patient and kind. I ranted and raved and they listened to me on repeat and were so caring. I wasn’t always a delight due to the delicate nature of my case, but they dealt with a highly emotionally charged situation with a great deal of consideration and kindness.

She actually emailed me to admit she "did not know how she could assist me" with my family law case, despite the firm having already drained my funds for what they called "preparation."
