Stay away from this firm. They are incompetent!

I initially contacted them to deal with a spouse visa. I explained everything thoroughly and was then told that they would be happy to deal with this case but I would have to pay the fixed fee in full. I then had an appointment booked and to my horror the apparent solicitor had not even read the information in relation to my case. I then asked her to call me back when she had, I received a call back not even 5 minutes. The consultation was followed with a letter that had inaccuracies, spelling errors throughout and was not consistent with my case. I sent that letter back to Alison Law expressing my disgust with the unprofessional manner in which I was dealt with. I am then directed to the apparent solicitor who is head of immigration, Talat Jabin who advised she will be personally dealing with my case, Needless to say she sent me a letter of representation with yet again more errors, inaccuracies and even someone else's personal information on it and the explanation I received was sorry you were sent a wrong letter in error. I also received the letter of their terms, which I had to collect and pay for because they did not even pay the postage. I then receive an email stating that I received the letter in good time. Furthermore, they offered to get the land registry docs at a cost of £5 which is not a service they provide, why offer it? It did cost the same as the postage they failed to pay. This has been a mistake from start to finish and i will follow procedure and then inform the SRA. Solicitors are not appointed to prejudice their own clients! Shabnam was Bruna

VERY VERY POOR

Paid the FULL fee upfront before the application started for my VISA extension, I was allocated with the a case worker, had to wait for DAYS to get a response back for one email even after stressing that I had limited time he would take his own time and was not helpful AT ALL! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE.

Requested them to cancel my application after waiting for weeks, got a reply after weeks again saying only 10% of the fees will be refunded.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDED THIS FIRM TO ANYONE!!

Unprofessional, Dont Respond to Emails/Calls & Dont Render Any Service

Completely unprofessional. Paid for 5 visas in total. The forms that were filled in by Alison Law were incorrect and provided the incorrect information - probably in an attempt by them to have our visas rejected (for example, indicating we dont have any accommodation in the UK, despite this being untrue, us telling them that and them insisting its fine to state this even though its a requirement to have accommodation available in the UK for our visa categories). Luckily, we didnt trust them and landed up submitting our own, CORRECT visa applications which was successful on the first attempt, WITHOUT their help. They also were initially very responsive UNTIL WE PAID, then silence - we had to follow up multiple times and they only PARTIALLY replied when I escalated the matter to their chairperson. Then they continued to be unresponsive again. To this day, I havent received a response to all of my questions. Its as though they dont understand what they're doing. The contract also says they must respond within 48 hours and I havent received any responses from them. I am taking legal action in the Small Claims Court. I have also reported them. I encourage all that have been prejudiced by this unprofessional firm to do the same. If you are not a client yet, dont think you will be the exception to the rule. The positive reviews are fake, without a shadow of a doubt.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs

I contracted Alison Law to handle my family visa and paid them 6,500 GBP for these services.

At first, as many other comments have suggested, their sales staff were very pushy and to our detriment we paid them thier fees upfront.

At this point, things took a turn for the worse. Alison Law made multiple promises to issue us with documentation and clarify UK family visa requirments. These promises were either not forthcoming nor adequate.

After having ignored our questions for more than a month and multiple errors having been discovered in formulating the forms (from the information we gave them accurately) we decided to cancel thier services rather than predujice our case. We can show evidentially that the forms they planned to submit did not meet the plain letter of the law and were doomed to fail.

We then requested a refund. We were told by Alison Law that they would respond with a decision in 10 business days. They then proceeded to ignore us completely and to date have not responded to our request for a refund.

Alison Law claim that they have delivered the service and the contract entitles them to the full fee. However, it is clear that they have delivered a sub-par service and no contract can permit a law firm to malperform and then claim protection under a contract.

In particular, Alison Law charged us handsomely for a dependent visa application. As far as I can tell this application was never even drafted. The amount of work performed was trivial, yet they have shown no shame in taking thousands of pounds for this contrived service.

I can't state this any more clearly, do not use these lawyers. You will very likely regret it.

Administrative review

Hi,
I approached Alison solicitor nearly 2 years ago.
Until today I had no answer for my application, Even they have tried to call more than 20 times in a few different months.

Very unsatisfied, not customer service.

This is what they say in each email.
“Please note our usual response time is within 48 hours but at busy periods this may be slightly longer”
“48 hours” 48 months should be the right message.

Thank you for being unprofessional.

stealing customer's money and never work on your case

An outrageous experience, big disappointment of their "service" . I really cant explain how comes, they have so many good reviews, because the reason of choosing them was based on their reviews, which most probably they are all fake.
On 25th of april 2024, I randomly contacted them on internet, thinking choosing an outside firm, away from London might be more convenient price wise, a price which i can afford for my immigration settlement in UK. They have asked of me 1080 pounds in advance, just so they could proceed with my case. Since the start when i spoke with Mr Ansar Hussain, a receptionist which is the front person when you call for first time, and when you try to get some free advice from them, as they say the advice is free if you sign up with them, the only one who delivers some answers is this person. Since the start when i spoke with him, it has raised red flags, but i thought im running out of time in keep searching other firms, since i have to start since early phase for my paperwork, and i stopped doubting and i carried on. Even though he did not have the patience to listen to my entire situation, regarding some clarifications about the right method in calculating my absences in UK, and since i was discouraged by the previous lawyer from a London firm, which i paid for an hour consultation, saying i may be denied for the settlement because they may calculate another way rather than the consecutive years of stay, in this case exceeding the days of absences, might not have any chance for approval, whereas Mr Hussain neglected this fact, and said if you dont believe in the lawyer who has told you and you doubt, then how do you want to collaborate with us by not believing anything we say? I would expect him of not saying that, and he refused to listen to the entire scheme i was trying to elaborate, to make myself clear, many times he cut me off, he wanted to cover me only with his speech, by giving his best guarantees that the previous lawyer doesnt know her job, and is the way he say it is and i have chances for approval. In any case, selling me illusions , he was not a legal advisor, he was leaving me on the phone for minutes waiting, saying he needs to ask the lawyer for the questions i was raising, i dont understand why in this case, the lawyer did not get in touch with me personally, so he was the middle man of the entire situation, and when i was about to make the payment, he asked me if he could stay on the phone with me while i make the transfer... for some reason again i found it strange for him saying that, but i tried to ignore it. After the payment was done, then the nightmare began. There was a contract for me to sign, sent from Habib Ahmed which contained Client ID request and MCR client care letter immigration, a contract that had my address incorrect and even though i paid for a fixed fee, in the contract on T&C, were other stipulations of paying the lawyer per hour and different sorts of situations written, which did not makes sense to me, signing for something like that. I decided i have to call them back to clarify this contract and be rectified such as address and make the contract accustomed to the client's needs, and the only thing they kept saying is that the contract is generic and is sent to all of client, and not individually, and someone will call me back to fix it, and nobody did. The telephone appointment with the potential lawyer Mr Nadeem Akhtar supposed to be on 29th of april 2024 at 11 am,and he never showed up. I reached his office, asked about him, and his receptionist replied that he was too busy to get in touch with me and he is not in the office anymore. She did not rearrange another meeting with the lawyer, saying he will get back to me sometime when he is free, which could never be. Eventually the red flags since the start combined with the dishonour of the meeting and lack of integrity and values, made me take the decision to stop collaborating with them, and to ask for a refund of my money. At the moment the payment went through, there was mentioned that if in 14 days no lawyer gets in touch with me, i have the right to ask for my money back. There was no policy into place, i did not sign any contracts with them, absolutely nothing. I got an anonymous call one day, saying was from Alison law, a lady who said that if they refund me the money, there will be accordingly to their policy, a consultation fee of 250 pounds,a fee which wasnt mentioned anywhere, since i have not signed anything. I was very annoyed of the fact that they dare to retain some of my money unfairly, for a consultation that did not even happen between me and the lawyer to say that they would have the right to hold the consultation fee. In any case, i did not agree with it , and i kept saying i want all my money back. Later on, Mrs Saima Kauser, the lady which deals with the refunds, she has attached me a file with the cancellation outcome, saying they will retain 780 pounds this time, because they believed they have done their part of their work, like sending email, phonecalls(most of them being the phonecalls i did to clarify the contract which noone fixed it, and asked for my refund), proceeding with my documents, (which i have never sent), administrational duties etc. My eyes could not believe of the distorted reality they have created in their advantage, so they take most of my money based on no foundations. I have not sent my ID, i have not sent documents, they do not know anything about me, the only thing they know is my name, phone number, email, the days of my absences regarding my stay in UK, and address. They can not prove me in any case that they have worked on anything for me, to say they have the right to hold on to my funds. Is more than a month now since they have not refunded me the amount of 1080 pounds, and i reported them everywhere i could, and leave the institutions works for me, to save me from this demonic act, ilegal act in betraying customers, and keep the money, without providing any service, neither send a refund.

Triumph in Court: Alison Law Brought to Justice and Defeated!

If you're thinking of hiring Alison Law, I recommend looking elsewhere. My experience with them was not good. After paying their fee, I found it nearly impossible to get a response. It felt like poor value for money.

Their complaints process directed me to The Solicitors Regulation Authority, probably because Alison Law knows it is ineffective. So, I took my case to the Small Claims Court instead. It was straightforward and affordable, all online. Despite Alison Law's threats, they didn't even show up to court, and asked a law student to represent them.

Alison Law tried to intimidate me, but it was all talk. They accused me of breaching contract by leaving a negative review, but the judge disagreed. Don't let them bully you. In the end, they were ordered to pay me over £5,000. I recommend taking them to court. The more people who hold them accountable, the better. They need to provide the service they promise.

Brian Willcox.

My husband hired this company to help secure a sponsorship visa. I have never seen my husband SO STRESSED & ANGRY, they are utterly USELESS. Paid a grand upfront (first mistake) back in early Feb and they HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING, so much so we're now paying someone else to do it. Chased & chased for updates and no one could give us one - in the end asked for a refund & they offered us £300 if we take our reviews down 🤣 How professional. They are IMPOSSIBLE TO GET HOLD OF, someone will always 'ring you back' which obviously they don't. Honestly the WORST and most stressful experience of our lives. AVOID. I can see on here from reviews it's a common thing, I'd advise anyone else who it's happened to, to complain to SRA. And anyone that hasn't used them...don't.

UPDATE SINCE THEIR REPLY:

They only know that we had issues with the employment contract because we contacted them asking for advice, you know because we're paying them (but had absolutely no response from them to help us)

If anyone is wondering, we are still going through with the sponsorship with same employee but using different solicitors 👍

And please do contact us, shame you don't reply to emails and calls as quick as you do reviews!

Also never used the word 'scam' - you said that yourself

Alison Law set my Husband up to “overstay” status

AVOID - DH appointed Alison Law to apply indefinite leave to remain in Oct since his BRP had an expiry date of 2 Jan 22 which was 1 month short of the 5 years requirement but Home Office refused to correct. Paid fixed fee, submitted all information, kept emailing and called for updates and had to wait until 22 Dec before receiving email from Bahdshad Khan the application drafting has just started. Called Bahdshad the next day and found out Alison Law was closed for Christmas till 5 Jan. DH checked with the Home Office and seek outside advice on 30 Dec then went onto changing the password of the application in order to gain access and found the application was incomplete and had not submitted. DH lodged a new application immediately and emailed Alison Law to terminate their service plus requesting a full refund. On 4 Jan, Bahdshad emailed DH asking for new password for him to complete the application and referred the case to Alison Law dispute team after DH resent him the termination notice.
The experience with Alison Law was so stressful and caused great deal of panic to DH throughout. Bahdshad does not like replying email and return calls. DH now decided to obtain the calling history from the mobile company since Bahdshad accused DH not answering the call and caused the application delay. DH will take action to claim for loss and damage as his chase for the refund, again being ignored.
