Anthony Pratt & his colleagues handled the probate, estate & sale of our late uncle’s house. We were kept informed at every stage & the entire process went smoothly. It only took 8 months for everything to be settled. The professionalism, speed & kindness were first class.
27 weeks of being totally ignored after instructing them to prepare LPAs & Wills. Phone calls not returned, notes lost and absolutely no system of checks to make sure clients' instructions are dealt with professionally and appropriately. I felt that they had no interest in the work I needed completing and no sense of responsibility to clients. 6 weeks after I removed my business from Austins & instructed another firm, still I had received no explanation for their lack of care, apology or indeed any contact whatsoever - they clearly hoped I was just going to go away... 4 weeks after following their complaints procedure, I received a letter apologising for their "failure in service levels". If you do decide to instruct Austins, I would strongly recommend that you demand a weekly update of what has been done.
Austin’s acted for me in the purchase of a flat. I was dragged through a legal case that went on for 4 years due to the negligence of the conveyancer who did not do her job adequately when initial searches were done. I have since had to sue to reclaim my legal fees and am yet to receive any sort of personal correspondence from them or apology for the situation they left me in.
Anthony Pratt and his colleagues dealt with the administration of my late "aunt's" estate. The matter was handled extremely professionally with excellent communication from the start. I felt confident in the way that the matter was handled and was kept informed at all times regarding the administration process. My request that I be allowed to have a picture that was owned by my late aunt, and which was of great sentimental value to me, was dealt with expeditiously. It is touches such as this that are important when having to come to terms with the death of somebody. My fastidious aunt certainly made an excellent choice in her choice of Executors!
Against my better judgemsnt I used Austins as recommdnded by my estate agents Venture.First correspondence enclosed a letter to another client ....no apology. No attention to detail, silly mistakes all the way through. Took so long ...very short chain.
