Professional Efficient Customer Service

From the first phone call I experienced a most professional, courteous service.
I phoned the company to enlist their assistance for the purchase of a property. I wanted to submit an offer the same day as I viewed the property. It was late pm on a Friday afternoon and I was aware that my request was almost asking the impossible. However, the formal offer was submitted on the following Monday/Tuesday after a verbal offer had been accepted. My “case” was extremely complicated and took a little longer for the settlement than normal. The lady who I dealt with was effective, efficient, courteous and eventually “got the job done” even though she had a much more important personal matter to deal with at this time.

First Class Service - Harper Macleod LLP

Would highly recommend Harper Macleod Solicitors based in Inverness. Susan Breen and her colleague Lia were friendly and professional. From the first visit to view my property and to the final email once my house was sold, we were kept updated all along the way. Telephone calls were returned quickly and emails answered swiftly. Susan and Lia handled our house viewings and feedback was given in a timely manner. Legal fees were reasonable too. It was a pleasure dealing with Susan and Lia and would advise potential clients to use this firm of solicitors and estate agents. First class service.

Excellent service from Natalie and Andrea

I recently used Harper MacLeod during a separation from my husband. Natalie Bruce drafted and confirmed the settlement agreement and division of assets, and Andrea Ross handled the transfer of the marital property into my name. Natalie and Andrea were both brilliant during what was quite a fraught time. They were friendly, understanding, kept in regular contact as things progressed, and were incredibly patient and professional. I would use their services again and would not hesitate to recommend Harper MacLeod, and Natalie and Andrea specifically, to others in my situation. Thank you both for all of your help.

Amazing service

This was the first time we bought a house and I think we would have been lost without Laura, our solicitor. She was amazing from day one, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and reachable. We got to this company by reading reviews online, and we were so lucky to find her. We took a gamble as we were moving from England to Inverness and we didn't know anything about Scottish laws or purchasing process, but she made it so easy for us: she explain everything, had our backs when needed, had advice. I really felt she cared, and she was in the process with us all the way. She made us trust the company she works for, to go there for any legal services in the future. Thank you again Laura! What a pleasure to work with you. You raised the standards of service we want to receive in the future.

I'm very grateful to Angus Brown at the Inverness office. He kindly gave half an hour of his time to explain the relevant parts of the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973. I did not feel under pressure to engage his services. He was so helpful in bullet pointing the salient points in case law and where to find out more.

By far, the worst experience I’ve had with any service. And I have dealt with a lot of solicitors. They are rude, abrasive and so unhelpful to the point that they would rather be awkward than help you.
When asking why we needed to provide some sensitive information, the response was shocking, including and I quote “clearly this matter is going to be more hassle than it is worth”.
They refused to represent us, because we wanted to know why they required this particular information.

To say that the offer of a fixed fee has no hidden surprises is factually incorrect and does not align with consumer legislation. The fee is conditional on using Harper Macleod for conveyances. That fee is a staggering £1000. I am not impressed

About this branch

Description

In 1988, Lorne Crerar and another young partner in a Glasgow court firm took a couple of support staff and converted its business division, which had recently started, into a separate commercial practice. The new start was Harpers, which subsequently took over a niche corporate firm called Macleods, to become Harper Macleod. In 2002, Martin Darroch joined the firm as Finance Director and was appointed Chief Executive in 2006 - Harper Macleod was the first firm in Scotland to appoint a non-lawyer chief executive - with the now Professor Crerar as Chairman. Over the years the firm went from strength to strength, expanding its footprint all over Scotland. In 2014, the firm took over niche private client practice, Bird Semple, to significantly extend its offering in personal legal services. Today, Harper Macleod is one of the largest professional partnerships in Scotland, serving clients and their interests in Scotland, the UK and beyond and generating in excess of £26 million in turnover - a figure that has consistently grown regardless of the economic backdrop.
