I would like to pass my thanks and gratitude onto Amy Wilford of Thomson Snell and Passmore. I became the Executor of my sister’s estate when she unexpectedly passed away two years ago. The administration was quite complicated on many fronts. However the dispute regarding the title of my sister’s property was handled in an extremely professional and competent manner by Amy. She responded quickly to any query raised and I found her very approachable. Her reassurance and experience was so appreciated at a difficult time. No detail was missed and I was very impressed with the seamless conclusion to the title dispute and subsequent sale of the property. I will always be grateful to Amy for her work and help in resolving this matter, which at times seemed so problematical. I would highly recommend Amy to anybody with a similar problem regarding a dispute over a will or estate administration.

There are times when Legal Advice is unavoidable and expert guidance is needed. If that is the case a good firm is essential and I found an excellent one in Thomson Snell & Passmore being supported by Nasima Ansary in their Will, Trust & Estate Disputes team. The issues I faced were complex, involving elements of Power of Attorney, Property, Wills and Probate. Nasima took the time to really understand the different aspects involved and helped to provide me with options and a way forward. I was lucky to have an expert litigator who was able to provide a range of options from alternative dispute resolution to in-depth guidance on progressing matters to court if thought absolutely necessary. At all times, I was grateful to Nasima, who was keen to encourage me to weigh the risks and costs against likely returns that ensured best return on effort, time and the stress that can accompany these processes. In interactions with the other parties involved Ms Ansary’s were of the highest professional standard despite the frequent tardiness from the ‘other side’. With these matters now brought to a successful conclusion, it was been important to have someone in whom I had complete faith that all options were considered and dealings were handled expertly. Alastair Harvey provided an excellent service with my recent freehold purchase. Fantastic communication, very responsive and very matter of fact, which is often required when dealing with a purchase of a property. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to any of my family and friends.

I went in for a standard statutory declaration witnessing, costing only £5, but having not done it before I came unprepared - only with a digital copy. Desmond and the lovely woman at the reception showed great patience and printed the form off for me, as well as checking it for mistakes and giving guidance on how to post it and who to. Very down to earth behaviour from the oldest law firm in the world - will definitely use them if I ever find myself in a stickier legal situation

Prompt and efficient service close to original budget estimate

This was my first time using TS&P - and the level of detail this firm went to and in particular, Harry Smith I can't speak highly enough of. The guy is an asset. He offered a first class level of service and his assiduous nature and diligence in seeing through my case through from start to finish has been incredible. The case in total lasted around 3 years, and at points I wasn't sure there was going to be any resolution at all. Harry kept me informed along the way and was very honest throughout which was refreshing, even when the end didn't look near. Harry was very transparent, understood my angle when it came to our family's case and worked hard to get me a level of justice I was seeking. He kept in touch fairly regularly and it was refreshing to hear him speak so passionately about our case, it felt like it mattered to him. The way he'd speak on phone calls with myself personally but also with family was outstanding - we felt he cared a lot about it and it resonated with all of us. When we worked towards a breakthrough, he was very diligent in coming to a resolution that suited us. His proactive nature was outstanding and from our point of view, Harry Smith sits in an extremely high regard.
