From day 1, Faz made sure all the legal side of Home buying was clearly communicated to us, made us aware of all the steps we need to expect. Professional , approachable, and gives clear advice. She was very efficient in helping us with the whole process and not only was she passionate about her job, she was so pro active and we felt safe and looked after as her clients. Faz made sure we are well updated with the process, always ready to answer our questions promplty and on time, and she was easy to be contacted when we need to discuss further topics. She made our first house buyinc experience smooth and hassle free. I agreed a sale on my property to a first-time buyer who already had their mortgage offer agreed in principle and who instructed Amity Law to act for them. The draft contract package was emailed to Amity Law on the same day the sales memorandum was issued. We then went through a very stressful and frustrating four months with Amity Law seemingly very rarely being prepared to communicate with my Lawyer, my Estate Agent and even often Amity Law's own client! When we were nearly four months in, I was then told they were only then reviewing their client's evidence for their source of funds, which should have been done at the start of the process as if there were issues with that, the deal would not have been able to proceed. That review apparently took over a week! In desperation, as I was told my buyer would soon be away on work commitments for several months and which was likely to jeopardise the whole deal, I rang Amity Law myself. (Not being their client, I knew they would not speak to me but hoped that they may listen to me and the experience I was told everyone else involved was having with Amity Law). Finally, the sale was transferred to another Conveyancer in their organisation and "flagged up" as urgent, it then finally exchanged and completed little time later, but in a very short timeframe, leaving very little time for me to clear my property. For some context, the property was a relatively modern freehold house which had been conveyed numerous times over the years and on a development of several hundred other homes. When I had purchased it in 2001, I was ready to exchange contracts three and half weeks after I had agreed the deal and when I had not even applied for a mortgage until we had agreed the terms. I and my Solicitor did not do anything magical, we just got on with the process and communicated with everyone involved. it's really quite simple! I give this advice as someone who previously spent about twenty years as an Estate Agent and who has dealt with numerous conveyancing businesses such as Amity Law and has sadly seen this experience time and time again. Do not use the seemingly "good value" conveyancing service offered by a mortgage lender's recommendation or which you have found elsewhere and which seems like a good deal, it is a false economy and may jeopardise your whole sale/purchase. They are generally paid relatively little and in turn, very often provide precious little service/communication, causing everyone involved a great deal of additional stress. Use a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer who you have either had a good personal experience with or one who has been recommended by someone you know who has used them or indeed by the Estate Agent involved and who is not earning commission from their recommendation. I never received any payment from the Solicitors or Conveyancers I recommended but only did so on the basis of the experience I had of them and knew they would get on with the process and would actually communicate with all parties concerned.

Extremely Slow, Poor Communication, and Unreasonably High Fees. I had a very frustrating experience with Amity Law, particularly with Alison. Their communication was poor and the entire process moved at an unacceptably slow pace. My first transaction with them had to be withdrawn after we discovered high service charges during enquiries. When I returned with a new property, their quoted fees went up significantly. On top of the higher quote, they caused severe delays and immense stress by making unreasonable demands, such as requiring 4 years' worth of bank statements for source of funds checks—far beyond standard requirements. Due to the lack of responsiveness, extreme delays, and escalating costs, I had to ask them to close my case and switch to a different conveyancer. Switching away made me realize how efficient and supportive home buying service should actually be.
