Following a family bereavement, I spent 9 months trying and failing to get help with a will alteration - just an unending cycle of unanswered emails, calls etc. You'll see that most of the bad reviews here concern wills - my lawyer friend says that's because they don't bring in much money, so go to the bottom of the work pile. In which case, they could just say that they don't really want the work rather than stringing people along. It's a very cruel way to treat people who have suffered a loss and are looking to move on.

A very disappointing experience I first used this practice in a previous incarnation in the late 70s and the odd occasion since then however after this experience I won’t be going near them again. Emails are completely ignored and telephone messages for call back also don’t get any response. On a slightly positive side I did receive an apology and a small reduction in fees however this didn’t go close to address the detrimental impact. I did provide written feedback to the practice head but sadly the response I got didn’t address the points and examples made. I again informed Platt & Fishwick of this unfortunately but expectedly this didn’t even get a reply. I shouldnt be surprised at this given my experience. Looking at other reviews I don’t believe I had a unique experience

It is now over 3 years since my relative died and we have still not resolved this. Without my prompting I don't believe much would have been done and they did admit that nothing happened for a while when one solicitor retired. It is so disappointing when you are just looking for closure

I cannot recommend my solicitor highly enough. A couple of years ago, he successfully represented me in not just one, but two separate cases against my employer, and the results were outstanding. It reminded me that exceptional solicitors genuinely deserve recognition and appreciation for the work they do. If you are looking for a solicitor who is experienced, trustworthy, and willing to fight for you, I would absolutely recommend platt and fishwick without hesitation.
