I honestly cannot thank Ellen and Julie enough for everything they have done for me throughout what has been a very long and difficult journey. From the very beginning, they made me feel reassured, listened to and, most importantly, heard. Before meeting them, I never felt like my voice was truly being listened to, but Ellen and Julie completely changed that for me. They took the time to understand my situation, answer all of my questions (even the repetitive and probably annoying ones 😅), and supported me every step of the way. There were many difficult and dark days throughout this journey, but Ellen and Julie had a way of brightening those days and giving me reassurance when I needed it most. I completed a week of work experience at Stuart Miller shadowing both Ms Joyce and Mr Zeb across Willesden Magistrates court and Highbury magistrates Court. My name is John-Paul Ezenwanne, and I recently completed a week of work experience at Stuart Miller Solicitors, where I had the opportunity to shadow both Ms Joyce and Mr Zeb across Willesden Magistrates’ Court and Highbury Magistrates’ Court. The experience was fast-paced and gave me valuable insight into the day-to-day work of criminal defence solicitors. I was able to observe court proceedings, see how solicitors interacted with clients and other legal professionals, and gain a much better understanding of how cases progress through the Magistrates’ Court. I particularly appreciated how willing Ms Joyce and Mr Zeb were to explain the work they were undertaking and answer my questions throughout the week. Their professionalism, approach to clients and ability to work effectively under pressure made the experience both interesting and insightful.
