Amy Constantine (Whitby branch) carried out the conveyancing for my sale & purchase. It was an absolute delight to go through this process with Amy. From the outset she was professional, speedy and friendly. She kept me up to date every step of the way and her replies were extremely fast. I really felt throughout the process that she had my back. I will definitely want to use Amy for conveyancing in the future. Highly recommended

After talking to a solicitor who assured me they were experienced in the field I needed I instructed a solicitor to go ahead with my case! This was a standard document which needed to be drawn up and registered with the tax department this should have taken 3 weeks maximum! However this was not the case! The solicitor was totally incompetent and had no experience in the field required! And actually admitted to having to google information! After 5 months and receiving a invoice for £900 alarms were definitely ringing! I requested and arranged a meeting with the manager! However when I turned up for the meeting the manager was not present, instead a mediator was present who took notes to pass onto the manager! And to this present day I have heard nothing, apart from the solicitor in question dealing with my case, and that was to inform me that the document could not be registered and I needed to pay the outstanding amount of £900 which was overdue and would be charged interest everyday! Had the solicitor been able to register the document there would be a further invoice for £400 a totall of £1300 It became apparent because I had raised my concerns the company just wanted my money and to get rid of me! I was never going to win against the solicitors so I paid the £900 pounds for the document which still hadn’t been registered and I was told could not be registered by the solicitors and I had to register it myself! I have since used another solicitor who have been excellent the document was registered by the solicitor and my first tax return completed within 2 weeks and only cost me £420 in totall!! Please do not use Thorpe and co!!!

Jennifer Roberts Scarborough Office was uninterested with little or no empathy in what I and my husband had to say. Showed her paperwork but glanced and pushed it back across the desk. Was in a maximum of 11.5 minutes for £150 and came out none the wiser unless we wanted to pay more, would have got more reaction talking to the brick wall. Used Thorpe and Co before but because of this instance would sadly put go somewhere else. We came out feeling mugged although the receptionist was lovely.

Used Philip Sainsbury at the Filey office in July 2019 for a sale and purchase. He was first class, prompt replies and thorough work on leases. It was the other parties solicitors who were not of his standard and who made him shine. He was a pleasure to deal with.
