Term-time contracts cover staff who work only during school terms or term-time periods, with pay, hours and holidays reflecting school calendars rather than a full-year pattern. A solicitor in this area drafts, reviews and negotiates terms of employment, including hours, pay during holidays, leave entitlements, pensions, dismissal and grievance procedures, and any continuity or TUPE implications when schools change hands. They also advise on variations, agency staff use, and compliance with education sector regulations when staffing schools or colleges.
