This work covers disputes arising from complex financial products and services, such as derivatives, structured investments, funds, payment services and consumer credit under the Financial Services and Markets Act regime. A solicitor in this area drafts pleadings and notices, reviews and levies disclosure requests, negotiates settlements, and represents clients in court or at the Financial Ombudsman Service after initial complaints. It often involves regulatory considerations, mis-selling allegations, and breaches of financial regulation.
The solicitor handles provisions, schemes and procedures (for example, FSMA framework, FCA rules and DISP processes), gathers and reviews documentation, conducts negotiations with banks, insurers and asset managers, and manages multi-party disputes across courts or tribunals. They coordinate regulatory contacts, advise on likely outcomes, and structure proceedings to preserve claims and enforce remedies.

I have recenty had cause to use Emma's services which is the second time I have called on her. On both occasions she has been successful in pursuit of my claims. She is very good on the detail and came up with angles of approach to the issues that proved to be key to the succcessful outcomes. The latest issue required a timely action by her and she got the work done quickly and efficiently at short notice. I really appreciate her adversarial approach that matched my ambition whilst also tempering it in a practical manner. Emma will certainly be my first port of call in any future dispute.
